Sessions under fire from all sides
The Hill ^ | 01/06/18 09:10 PM EST | ALEXANDER BOLTON

Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s job security is in question after taking withering fire from fellow Republicans this week, including from two prominent House conservatives who called on him to resign.

Two leaders of the House Freedom Caucus, Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), called on Sessions to step aside in an op-ed Friday, charging he has lost control of the Department of Justice and the FBI.

Sessions has also come under criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike for his decision to rescind the Obama-era Cole memo, which gave states the space to legalize marijuana without fear of federal interference.

By withdrawing the memo, Sessions gave federal prosecutors more leeway to pursue cases against the legal marijuana industry, which is expanding rapidly in several states.

Sen. Cory Gardner (R), whose home state of Colorado is host to a booming legal cannabis industry, ripped Sessions on the Senate floor Thursday and accused him of breaking a personal pledge not to change the Obama-era policy.

“Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) sent a letter to Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray Friday demanding they investigate if Christopher Steele lied to federal authorities.” This will make for a great test, watch Sessions claim “I don’t see the evidence”.

Notice that they sent the letter to Rosenstein instead of Sessions.

It's as if Sessions is recused.

This happened to show up as the first thread when I returned to FR, after I stumbled across a nice .gif for use in ZOTs, over on Twitter.

What do you think of it?

You mean when I give my opinion about marijuana, it makes you want to tell lies about me?

You give away all your biases when you do that sort of thing. It really doesn’t speak well of your ability to strategize your agenda.

You can only check on people who like to attach their name to contributions.

Why do you appear not to be aware of this basic fact?

I think you only wanted to try to convince others of the lie that I haven’t contributed. Of the very small number who might be reading it. Anyway, not a good reflection on you. Straighten yourself out.

You mean when Sessions was US Attorney in Alabama in the 1980s, and later Attorney General for Alabama before he was elected US Senator?

State attorney general of Ala, vs AG of the USA,

You tell me, are you satisfied with his performance as US AG?

Do you not see any, for reluctance of a more descriptive word, weakness, at all?

I understand the nuance

I don’t favor full blown legalization but do favor medical just because we don’t need another easily accessible dope since alcohol is so destructive in its own right for so many

Weed is lazy dope is my biggest negative

But overall I support Sessions

It’s a lot to balance

He should not have recused.......he prematurely shot his wad thinking it would be appreciated his integrity and all

He opened the door for libtard Rosenstein

If he doesn’t prosecute the deep state, I will be right there with you.

These include Hillary, Bill, Brennan, Soros, Clapper, Lynch, Comey, Yates, Obama, and many others. I’ll be satisfied with most, if not all.

And it includes the pedo creeps.

Although some can be prosecuted in military courts, it seems.

But I’m aware that Sessions’ timeline is different from my personal preference. And that is has to be done extremely carefully, not rushed, to avoid riots and civil war.

I believe the task at hand for Sessions is a lot bigger than what we can see or imagine.

AG Sessions reminds me of a Motel 6 manager trying to run a Trump Hotel.

As Ed Rollins has said on several different appearances on the Lou Dobbs show on Fox Business.. "Jeff Sessions is in way over his head."

I appreciate your thought out response.

It seems there is a fine line between lost in the woods and well thought out, brilliantly executed plans.

I hope for the latter, fear the former.

To date, my figurin' says it is time for him to recuse himself permanently, and let someone else with a better eye for the ball, grab a stick and take a shot at running the table.

I hope it involves this egregious abuse of state security power against a presidential campaign and the Clintons pay for play mechanisms

Back in November 2016 when NSA director Rogers visited Trump without notifying Obama and Trump moved HQ from Trump Tower immediately tells you Rogers did Trump a solid that day

And it pissed Obama

How does cannabis control the mind? In the same way a prescription anti-depressant does?

They already are along with the CIA. Which has been in the drug importation business into the USA since before JFK/Noriega. They aid and abet Regime change to the lesser of 2 evils who then install relatives who are drug dealers on massive scales.

Why didn’t he burn and keep them burned all those Poppy fields in Iraq and Afghanistan that is a big source of Terrorist funding?????

If I were Trump, I would not let Sessions go until I have someone else better on board.
