New Jersey has some of the best public schools in the country. But our current system is not operating on a level playing field. While wealthy suburban schools continue to provide rich educational experiences for their mostly white student population, too many Latino and African American students attend segregated schools hampered by intense poverty.
We allowed segregation to permeate our state education system for too long, institutionalizing a separate but equal doctrine. New Jersey's schools are among the top five most segregated in the country.
This decades-long failure continued under both parties.
The Latino Action Network is heartened that Governor-Elect Phil Murphy has promised to address our state's historic inequities. As a former national board member of the NAACP, he has demonstrated a commitment to principles of racial justice.

Democrats have demonstrated for decades that they are fine and dandy with Blacks (and Hispanics) attending violent and mediocre public schools. If they weren’t, they’d be the most outspoken champions of school choice and vouchers. Democrats need to keep Blacks and Hispanics dumbed-down, ignorant and perpetually aggrieved in order to control them and their votes.
Forced school integration has not produced the wonderful dividends that it promised. It also wastes a ton of gas busing students, wasting students time being on buses, and is a major cause of traffic congestion twice a day, in addition to needlesly wasting gas in the buses and cars it slows down, increasing harm to the environment.

Since we can’t talk about dysfunctional ghetto culture, family breakdown, a culture in which doing well in school is “acting white”, then we can’t ever begin to solve this problem.
It really gets old after a while, in our culture, in which we have tiptoe around problems, walk on eggshells, for fears of being called racist, if we point out certain aspects of problems which hamper the potential solutions.
Talking to some of the black guys who come to a long-running Saturday political breakfast I sometimes attend, what we really need to get better educational results is a better class of PARENTS!
Until education is valued in the communities with poor results, results will continue to be poor.

How much money has been spent trying to improve results for minority students with little to show for it? They build nice facilities, and they are destroyed. Until behavior and attitudes in minority communities change, nothing else will.

They’re not spending the money on students. Democrats don’t give a $hit about students. It’s about paying off the far-left teachers unions, which don’t have to demonstrate success or accomplishments whatsoever. Dems give ‘em the money, they deliver them their votes and support, a nice little racket.
Until the family and importance of fatherhood is restored in the Black community, they can dump trillions down the toilet, it won’t change a thing.
They got away with that decades ago because Whites still lived in those cities. Now, they moved out to smaller towns and locales in separate school districts with little to no non-Whites (and hence generally better public schools), leaving the cities with almost 100% non-White public schools. If the Dems ever were able to force White middle and upper class kids into those violent and mediocre schools, the parents would either immediately enroll them in private schools or simply move again (probably out of state).

Who cares about the kids stuck in Newark? Their moms will still show up in November to vote for the democrats anyways.
Solution to all the issues you bring up:
1. Start a GoFundMe account/501 charity .... either one will work
2. Donations go to fund educational scholarships for hispanic, black, illegal immigrants, refugee kids
3. All scholarship recipients will attend the most prestigious, private schools in America, because they deserve a chance too
I’m thinking the first 2 schools to do this should be, Sidwell Friends and Stuyvesant. Lets see the Left and Liberals welcome the, “tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.” Let them show all of us how to assimilate their new classmates into modern, western tolerant society.

10% free and reduced = 90% passing benchmark testing
Check your own neighborhood schools + or - 3%
Middle class, upper middle class, and above will pass the benchmark because of the importance of an education to the family and the support the family can give in educational resources.
Lower class families often are unable to allocate resources or lack the education to enable them to help beyond the 3-4th grade. 5th graders in our system must be critical thinkers and self starters. Therein lies the rub, if your goal in life is for gov to provide your needs this will be passed on generation to generation.
To break this chain our nation must deport cheap labor illegals, provide tax incentives for businesses to seek out and educate those able but lacking skills. We must help move our nation’s permanent underclass to a place where they can not only see the American Dream on the horizon but help them reach out and grasp it. President Trumps policies and vision for America the melting pot can MAGA!
