Chinese exhibitors are dumping ‘The Last Jedi’ by an incredible 92% in its second weekend. It’s dropping from 34.5% of the screens in the Middle Kingdom to 2.6%, with some of those being turned over to ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle‘ and others going to local films.
Turning Luke into a bitch was a disgrace.

China’s taste in cinema is almost as bad as America’s but they are right on this one. Now if we can just get them to hate superhero movies we would be all set

On noes. Keep EmoVadar? Adam Driver is a good actor who promises to be better, but EmoVadar?
If Disney actually allowed Driver to imbue Kylo Ren with the darkness of soul Driver is capable of expressing in a character, they might have something people want to see.
As the Kylo Ren character is written, he comes across as a whiny, little snot with as much power as the girl whatshername Jedi-like character.

I gotta say that I’ve noticed that many of the actors in TV commercials and shows are damned ugly. It seems like some kind of thing like the shaky camera was a while back.
What I liked about the original Star Wars films was the Obi-Wan Kenobi character, played by Sir Alex Guinness, and his mentoring of young Luke, who discovers himself in the process. You had a good feeling at the end of that first original film, whatever they call it now. When they did the three prequels, unfortunately they kept showing how evil triumphed over good. Yes I know that was the point but it was a downer. Liam Neeson’s character fighting Darth Maul was the best part of that first film in the prequels, then it all went downhill. I didn’t like the young Darth Vader slaughtering the younglings.
I guess the Chinese aren’t buying the affirmative action selected main characters.
That’s the problem with this mess, they don’t have enough movie remaining to fix it. Had they combined this and Force Awakens, they would have had two movies to get themselves out of the moron corner they painted themselves into, but with only one movie, it’s hopeless. They may as well just let Daisy Ridley do an Eddie Murphy and play all the roles in the movie except instead of different characters, it will be Rey as general, pilot, admiral, bartender, and droid.
That pretty much sums up Anakin Skywalker before becoming Vader, and young Luke Skywalker. Three generations of whiners.
