As disgraced comedian Bill Cosby counts down the days to his retrial on charges related to sexual assault, he reportedly took to the stage in a rare performance for a friendly crowd in Philadelphia.
According to the Associated Press, Cosby appeared at a jazz club in his hometown Monday for a live performance, which included riffs with the audience.
After asking the son of one band member whether he knew who the comedian was, Cosby shot back with a self-deprecating line.

Wonder if he has any extra ‘ludes?
Has he learned his lesson yet not to encourage young black men to pull up their pants and take responsibility for their lives?
His show seems to be on all the time whenever I’m flipping through TV channels.

When I was a kid I had all his albums, knew all the routines practically by heart.

He was a talented and insightful comedian. His wisdom on many things should still be considered. He unfortunately, fell prey to his own celebrity.

It's ironic that he represented the Jello brand, even if it was pudding not the colorful dessert that can be spread on the floor to stop monsters!

Too bad he didn’t learn how to take responsibility for his own life.
The kids were singing praises to me......“Dad is great. He gives us chocolate cake.”...and everybody was having a great time..........until......

But how can he? He’s too blind and feeble to stand trial...
It makes me sick how he basically wanted dead, but still warm, women to experiment on with his nasty ideas. I could not stand to ‘enjoy’ his comedy any more, maybe never, and I’m pretty comedy forgiving. But it’s like watching Jeffrey Dahmer do stand up.
My dad had them all. I’m glad dad died before Cosby got found out.
This is a big temptation with performance/entertainment figures, who show one image for public consumption and then frequently get away with acting like the devil in private.
And even then it doesn’t have to hurt a lot of people... but in Cosby’s case it looks like it did.
To repent and eat crow in public and try to bequeath a better legacy to posterity is perhaps the best Cosby could do.
In jail?
This kind of possibility is why the bible warns both Jewish and Christian believers not to put their trust in men. Besides idolization being simply wrong, it could also throw you for a loop if the one you did it to turns out to have a troubled side.
Sometimes people who are idolized don’t even know about the power that misuses them so before trouble goes down. They may in fact feel quite inferior. I encountered this problem in miniature, as I am a good gospel musician but discovered that two churches in succession weren’t so much using my presentations on piano to worship to, but to pride themselves in me. Had I known, I would have torn my proverbial cloak. I didn’t know until the ugly consequences set in.

He’s not even acknowledged what he’s done for over a half-century (not like we’d expect him to), but there’s really nothing he can do now to atone or “bequeath a better legacy to posterity.”
I mean, it’s not like he’s your average sex predator. He’s far worse. He doesn’t even have the courage to look them in the eye when he’s raping them, he’s got to render them unconscious to satisfy a sick de facto necrophiliac fetish. Cosby must have epic-level hatred of women issues. And for all this time, his wife has enabled his twisted behavior. She’s no better than he is, and perhaps worse because she could’ve stopped it.
