Yet another Marvel superhero movie.

It looks like it will have lots of state-of-the-art special effects, and will draw in lots of blacks.

It think that last part will be a problem, as white movie goers may not want to be in a theater with a heavily black audience.

Who in Hollyweird would dare to give it anything other than a rave review?

I stopped going to Marvel movies a while ago. Won’t break the pattern for this one.

Yet another Marvel superhero movie.

Get used to it...there are 21(!) Marvel superhero films in various stages of production set to be released in the next four years.

In any case, I won’t bother seeing it. I have seen a few superhero movies. I have no desire to see them all. Any superhero movie that essentially shouts out “We was kaangs!” isn’t going to make my list of “must sees”.

All Hollywood can do is prequels, sequels, remakes/reimaginings, superhero films, horror films, and other crap.

Only a problem until word gets out to the hood that it's a different Black Panther than what they wanted to see....

I just saw Thor: Ragnarok, the latest one. Highly entertaining.

You know, it may not be as much of a problem if you leave your white hood at home...

Why do you think superhero and horror films are "crap"?

Black Panther’s PG-13 Rating Includes ‘Rude Gesture’ By Matt Dolloff 01.25.2018

If the ratings system was futzed with to guarantee a PG-13, that will set the cat among the pigeons...

Blockbuster means a great commercial success, but this hasn’t been released to the public. That means Newsweak doesn’t know the English language.

“praised for being original, highly diverse, and incredibly moving”

Like original. Like moving. Diverse? What quality is “diverse?”

Now, if it means we are going to see a variety of characters with backgrounds different than we are used to, it could be meaningful.

If it means they’ve got their pro-LGBT virtue-signaling, count me out.

Every character in a story is supposed to be unique. “Diverse” to me is a code word for a stereotypical character meant to elicit a certain audience response.

When it comes to paid entertainment, I agree with Samuel Goldwyn, “If you have a message, call Western Union.”

I look at the trailers, and they’re all black, 100% black actors and I think- is this what black people see when they look at a Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter movie? Wow. Shoe on other foot

Question- is it 5-star good...or is it "Malcom X 5-star good"?

25 years ago, all I heard from Hollywood was about how Malcolm the Tenth was the greatest movie of the decade, if not all time.

When I watched it, it was okay in places. However, the only bright spot was Denzel Washington (who can turn reading the phone book into a blockbuster). Otherwise, it was a cross between bitter and boring.

Without giving away any spoilers, I’ll just say that I didn’t like what Marvel did (plot, script, casting), and I’ll leave it at that. I didn’t go to see it.
