Uniformed officer asked to leave 'gun-free' Outback Steakhouse because of service weapon
Fox News ^ | 2/5/18 | Alexandra Deabler

A uniformed officer carrying his service weapon was asked to leave an Outback Steakhouse restaurant because it is a designated “gun-free zone.”

Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency officer Andrew Ward went to Outback Steakhouse to have dinner with his wife Friday evening, he wrote in a public Facebook post.

Ward said in the post that a manager approached him and requested that he put his gun in his truck. Ward told the manager that he could not because he was in uniform and had to have his weapon on his person.

The manager left to make a call, Ward writes, and then returned to ask Ward and his wife to leave because Outback is a “gun free zone.”

Must be up to the local manager, I’ve been to several of their restaurants while carrying and saw no postings.

Well, when an armed robber shows up at her restaurant she can tell him to leave as well....................

Zactly.

I confess that it has been 8 years since I’ve eaten at an Outback.

I love Olive Garden’s salad. Found the dressing in the grocery store recently and now can make my own at home and it’s exactly like the restaurant version. Buy some frozen bread sticks to go with it and it’s a nice dining experience.

Was at outback last night, my son and I. Concealed is obviously no problem.

Boycott Outback Steakhouse.

I can't boycott something I never patronize. I stopped going to Outback after encountering one of their "steaks" that turned out to be mostly gristle.

When I see a gun-free zone” sign, I turn around and leave. I vote with my wallet every single time I can.

Not me... I go in, let the manager know why I'm leaving, then I leave.

Unfortunately, it's impossible to find a bank that doesn't have one of those stupid signs. When I go in, I make certain everyone knows how safe I feel, knowing that no armed bank robber would dare violate that sign!

I think that the absolute worst of any is Olive Garden- they are totally anti American, do not allow American flags....

Olive Garden--Italian cuisine for non-Italians.

Bloomin’ moron serving Bloomin’ Onions. Texas Roadhouse is by far the better choice in that style of restaurant chains.

To be a chain restaurant little better than Applebees they certainly are expensive and the quality is lacking as you note. I haven’t been to one in at least fifteen years and even then went because friends liked the place. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

What stopped me was reading an article about how many calories are in a bloomin’ onion.:-P

You might as well take a bottle of Wesson Oil and drink it...................

Why would someone freak out because they saw an armed officer in a restaurant? If they freak out for that reason, I would assume they freak out any other time they see an armed officer, such as while driving. If they are freaking out they probably shouldn’t be considered mentally and emotionally stable enough to be driving a car. Their licenses should be revoked.

:)

It turns out that an average meal, with your share of a bloomin’ onion, is somewhere around 4,000-5,000 calories IIRC.

I go into McDonalds every year or two because of a milk shake craving. Every time I look at the calorie count in each one and walk out empty handed. They are simply not THAT good.

“When I see a `gun-free zone sign’, I turn around and leave. I vote with my wallet every single time I can.”

If I see one of those in a place I might have patronized, I will inform management as to why I will no longer do so.

Hoping that an armed criminal goes into the restaurant and shows the manager why he should have let the cop carry.

“sometimes your shirt rides up and some liberal gets all excited I have a gun”

Same in South Carolina. Our CCW instructor spent time showing us how to keep our weapon concealed at all times since S.C. does not allow open carry.

Let your shirttail ride up & some pearl-clutcher sees it, it becomes equivalent to brandishing.

Outback has a terrible menu. The blooming onion is the only thing I like there.
