He wasn't complaining. As the video clearly shows, he was mocking them.
He was not complaining about the lack of applause to his speech or him- he was complaining at the lack of support shown for this country. As he said we are under one flag, it is one country. If they don’t support things that are improving, things that we should be celebrating as Americans- then it does seem like they don’t support the country. There were many things in the SOTU they could have supported, without supporting him. They didn’t.
I don’t think the Democrats have supported the country for a long, long time- no matter who the President is- even when Obama was in office, constant stream of what is wrong with this country from the Democrats. I think they truly want to destroy the country and rebuild according to their wishes. People who truly love this country, are proud- and want to always improve. There is a difference between seeing issues that need work and seeing only the worst, none of the best.
Trump is pointing out that the Leftists in that audience refused to applaud things in his speech that REAL Americans would applaud, and that Democrats would NORMALLY applaud if he weren’t the President. Things in his speech:

Supporting law enforcement
