Massive Overnight Twitter Purge Outrages Conservatives
PJ Media ^ | February 21, 2018 | Megan Fox

Overnight Twitter exploded with rage, sending #TwitterLockOut to the top of the trending list. People like Ben Garrison, the famous cartoon artist, are reporting they have lost thousands of followers in an instant and more are dropping out by the minute. It appears that only conservative accounts are included in the follower purge.

#TwitterLockout - just saw 2k followers go poof~ What's up Twitter? — BenGarrison Cartoons (@GrrrGraphics) February 21, 2018

RED ALERT!

Twitter is Banning Hundreds of THOUSANDS of Conservative Accounts Tonight.. I literally just lost 5,000 Followers within the last 10 minutes.

All hands on Deck America, #TwitterLockOut — Matt Couch ?? (@RealMattCouch) February 21, 2018

In a matter of hours it seems twitter removed over 2,500 followers from my account.

Anyone else experiencing this today? #TwitterLockOut — Veteran For Trump (@Veteran4Trump) February 21, 2018

#TwitterLockOut shit it just dropped another 1,000 — Joe Biggs (@Rambobiggs) February 21, 2018

How in the world did I lose 500 followers in less than 3 hours?! ??@carrieksada @thebradfordfile @DebbieAAldrich I noticed y’all lost some too: must be those pesky “Russians”. SAD #TwitterLockOut #MAGA pic.twitter.com/r1rxPew9c5 — Donald J. Thump (@POTUSThump) February 21, 2018

Gab TV broadcast the reports they are getting by the thousands of people locked out. Twitter seems to be labeling Trump supporters "Russian bots" and banning them until they provide confidential information most people don't want Twitter to have.

BREAKING: Twitter falsely labels thousands of users as bots, locks them out of their account?? https://t.co/nIzzClqMBU — Gab: Free Speech Social Network (@getongab) February 21, 2018

This is not unexpected. We have been reporting on Twitter tomfoolery for quite a while now and have been waiting for the main purge to begin. This looks like the big one. In order to get back into their accounts, Twitter is requiring a phone number to be attached to the account. Gab TV thinks it could be a data grab. At the same time, Twitter is having a scandal at Periscope involving minors being groomed by pedophiles and talked into doing sexual acts online for adults. Critics say Twitter hasn't done much to stop it. The Daily Mail reported on it back in December:

In a video shown to The Sunday Express, a girl aged around seven or eight is seen sitting in her living room, with her mother just metres away, while paedophiles post sexual requests. Speaking to the paper, Shaun Stockdale, 34, from Hull, said he noticed a large number of users clicking onto the video and was disturbed by the comments being posted underneath. 'It became clear pretty soon that these were not children her own age, they were grown men – paedophiles – exploiting her for their own gratification.

Periscope and Twitter are aware of these issues but it was still going on as of last week when I reported two videos that were brought to my attention showing minor girls being harassed and groomed by sickos. The same thing happened to #MeToo during a live stream and I was unable to block the harasser.

Twitter should be regulated. The governor of Hawaii recently went to Twitter to notify citizens of a false alarm, it’s also used for Amber Alerts. So are Trump supporters now not entitled for this information based solely on their politics? Could the telephone company do the same? Cable wifi? Not a chance, and given how we use social platforms today this shouldn’t stand either.

Go to gab.ai and zerohedge.com to post uncensored comments.

On twitter and facebook, posters must be more tactful and discrete.

Intersperse posts with dog and cat pictures. Refrain from using cyrillic and lots of numbers in user names.

In the age of the internet, the barriers to entry are almost non-existent. You can start a website at your own desk.

Most conservatives simply don't have the interest in doing anything about it. I don't give a flying f#%& who controls the media. I haven't watched a news program or read a newspaper in more than 15 years.

Exactly. Social media users seem to be what were called “butterflies” in the Philippines. Flitting from flower to flower. Or a sailor who flits from whore to whore.

Youtube has been a sneaky actor for a long time. I was helping flag Jihad videos a few years ago and Youtube, though illegal to produce such and show in US, failed to remove most of them. The organizer stopped the effort since Youtube wouldn’t help.

I quit Twitter. It would be best if everyone abandoned them.

And our fools willingly gave them their info. Tons via Facebook — pics of associations and travels with embedded gps info, friends lists, facial tagging and hence data, religious/political leanings. All freely given by people who close their blinds and lock their doors. Arghhhhhhhhhhh!

Yup.

I hate when some on the right call YouTube and Twitter the “digital commons”.

Well, no it isnt! It’s a stupid service offered by a private company that we got addicted to like a meth addict, and now we are screaming because they are regulating the supply.

Dont complain, leave them, and build the alternatives.

Twitter is a business and should be regulated by the free market economy

It is not a public utility and should never be used as a primary official means of communication.

Twitter is becoming pointless.
People need more skin in the game.

Social media has become an open sore on the world and only shows our fallen condition.

Imagine if Bell Telephone Company disconnected the phones to every house that made a call to the local Richard Nixon campaign in 1960.

Imagine if Comcast disconnected the cable service to every home that never watches CNN, Bravo, Oprah Network, and BET, but always watches Fox News, Westerns, police dramas, and war movies.

Imagine if Hertz refused to rent a car because their GPS records show the last time you rented, you drove to a conservative rally.

If Twitter and YouTube are deleting the accounts of users who are not abusing the product but simply using it to express personal opinions, then there is a major problem at these companies.

I'm going to suggest that these companies are seriously violating their personal data privacy regulations by examining the content of people's postings. It's one thing to say in their end-user agreements that they monitor content for malware, viruses, terrorism, and the like, but it crosses a privacy line to access personal data to purge users who post, not objectionable, but just disagreeable, content.
