Trump endorses guns for teachers to stop shootings
BBC ^ | Feb. 21, 2018 | BBC

US President Donald Trump has said arming teachers could prevent school shootings like that which left 17 people dead last week in Florida.

A staff member with a gun could end an attack "very quickly", he said.

Mr Trump floated the proposal as emotional survivors of the 14 February massacre implored him to make sure it never happens again.

The Republican president also backed calls for improved background checks on gun buyers.

A good first step toward common sense crime control. It’s for the childretn ... if it saves even one life, it’s worth it.

“If they have armed guards to protect politicians and celebrities...why not kids?”

THIS IS THE ARGUMENT THAT MUST BE MADE EVERY MINUTE.

Giving someone a gun, whether it be a cop or a teacher, isn’t as easy as having them go thru a 3-Day, NRA course. Lots of people want to model this after the Israeli model of school security. The place that has, MANDATORY, military service for two years and everyone goes thru the same training. And, they live in a heightened sense of security, given that all of their neighbors want to wipe them off the map.

I’ve trained cops, military, and security contractors. Some were amazing, some could barely qualify.

To be proficient in firearms, really proficient takes thousands of rounds and thousands of hours on the range, doing reload drills, doing malfunction drills, so on and so forth. And, that’s just to become proficient on a static range, with paper targets, in a ‘no stress’ environment, with no screaming kids, no moving targets and potentially no one shooting at you.

Now, I’ll get carpet-bombed by innumerable people that carry a .380 in their pocket telling me that, “Shooting ain’t hard. Been carrying a gun all my life. I can do anything. Delta Force ain’t got nothing on me. You suck. F*ck You, Commie”.

A good time to draw a weapon from concealment, Aim and Fire the weapon at a threat is around 1.5-2 sec’s. And that’s when you know the buzzer is going off. That isn’t when you have no idea when it’s going to come.

Now, throw a little stress in there, with the aforementioned screaming, bloody, dying kids and teachers, choas everywhere and tell me how the person that took a one week class with the NRA or local sheriff will do. Maybe they’ll do great. Maybe they won’t. Only time will tell.

Who is going to be liable for an errant round from the teachers gun that hits a kid? Who is going to take on that responsibility? The School District?

I think there’s a better solution. Is my idea the best one? Who knows? Can teachers be armed and be perfectly capable of doing the job? I’m sure some can, without a doubt. What if there aren’t any teachers that want to do it? Does that school just go without security? No easy answers, for any of it. But, I’ll throw this out there ...

National Guard personnel posted at schools. Not dresed in MultiCam, wearing full kit.

Dressed in chinos and a button down shirt or polo shirt. All weapons and gear is concealed. Instead of doing their weekend a month, they go to a school for 2 or 3 days. They get some training from the local cops/sheriffs. Get a department radio so they can have instant communications with law enforcement and dispatchers for medical services, can better coordinate response from law enforcement. And then train the teachers, TCCC, tactial combat casualty care and provide each classroom with a med bag.

The listening session was excellent. The gun grabbers were showed for the opportunists they are. He listened to them, and he silently rejected their “argument”. But unlike the MSM and Dem party, there was a variety of views and there were some good ideas put forth which he latched on to.

In 2013, the Broward County School Board, in collusion with Eric Holder and the Obama Administration, put in place policies to prevent crimes comitted by minority students in school from being reported to the police!!!

Cruz was considered minority due to his last name. He previously brought bullets in his backpack! He comitted numerous crimes on school grounds, was caught, and never reported to police. They weren’t allowed to!

Please spread it far and wide. Copypasta this post to other school shooting threads. Post on facebook. Email to friends.

“Broward County schools intentionally created polices from 2010 through 2016 that culminated in the 2018 mass school shooting in Parkland. We know this with great specificity because five years ago we warned Broward County Florida school board members this could happen.”

>>I don’t really agree with this because an unruly student could wrestle a gun from a teacher. I think it’s better to have trained security guards at schools, preferably ex-military or off duty cops.

I believe in the Second Amendment and not the “only professionals can handle a gun properly” nonsense.

Here is another good solution. An Innovative School Security System.

Good idea, and the logical answer.

Naturally, it’ll drive the left crazy because logical answers are like garlic to a vampire for them.

And - is it just me, or has this whole school shooting story getting more than tiresome? I’m sick of hearing people whine about it. I’m sick of hearing people bat around useless “solutions.” I’m sick of people saying “we must have a con-ver-sation!” with crocodile tears dripping down their faces.

If they’re not willing to lock the school doors, arm a few teachers and have security at schools this is what they’re going to get. End of story.

The only other thing I would do to “end” school shootings is make it a given that the shooter is not given the publicity that he / she/ it desires. I mean, Fox News had helicopters following the ambulance for 10 minutes that was taking Cruz to the hospital for no particular reason. This is just ambulance chasing (in this case, literally).

It’s already being tried. Utah already allows permit holders to carry in schools. And you’ve heard of all of the massacres?

Oooops. I forgot. There haven’t been any.

POTUS needs to support an increase in hard prison time for gun crimes. That will smoke out the Dems. They have no interest in genuine crime reduction.

We have sheriff deputy out stations in many bank branches in my part of Florida. Move the deputies to schools. Problem solved.

Even better, it was reported this morning that he favors concealed carry by adults in schools.

No need to arm anyone. Just eliminate the stupid “gun free zone”.

In 2001, Michigan became a “shall issue” state when it came to CPL’s. Unfortunately they also added “gun free school zones” to the bill. Prior to that, a close friend who was a middle school assistant superintendent and several other teachers always carried concealed weapons in the school but had to stop once the bill went into effect.

Didn’t see that as I came home late. His bump stock thing is a dead end fake even DiFI says there’s no authority in the agencies to ban them, it has to be legislated. This Prez seems to like the “rope a dope” method of making his adversaries jump at non-opportunities.

Watch and learn.

I’ve an even better solution to the whole gun crisis . . . let’s get America back to the God of the Bible like it was back in the 1940’s and 50’s - the people of our country sure weren’t perfect - but they also were not shooting up high schools and legalizing harmful drugs.

Some people back then hated God just as folks do today - but back then they knew better than to act upon that hatred because justice was swift and sure. It was not like today where the liberal courts are more interested in coddling the criminal element because they might have been scarred as children growing up in a home where the board of education was applied to the seat of education.

If America continues in the course it is presently now on and there will be no America one day in the future.

Armed teachers is just a deterrent. Most teachers will not be armed but should have the option to defend themselves. Just eliminate all the gun free zones.

“I want trained, armed, professional men in every, single school in America.”

that’s better. i don’t want a bunch of liberal feminazis armed. and that’s what the majority of teachers are. otherwise our schools wouldn’t be so dumbed down
