Federal government supplying books is wrong on so many levels. The federal government needs to be out of education.

"...calling on political leaders to “arm” them with they really need: books and school supplies as well as time and resources."

Yeah, the kids can hold up those books to deflect the bullets coming at them.

Does it have to be one or the other? What idiots. “Teachers” means one or two malcontents that the MSM is willing to parade around.

More money is always the answer for the unions. They can never get enough, even if we dedicated the entire budget to education, they would want more. If money made better schools, big cities would be leading the education revolution and everyone would be flocking to those schools. What a bad joke.

Based on the latest test scores, many students have yet to crack a book and study.

This ignorance is what is teaching our children, folks. These people are “teachers”.

What they are are the poster children for why we need school choice, vouchers, etc. to allow parents to get their kids an actual quality education.

In other words, they want more dead children.

Superintendents get fat 6-figure salaries, teacher get gold-plated health insurance benefits, and school districts spend tens of millions on each new school.

And we have to hold bake sales to buy pencils for the kids?

What is wrong with this picture?

What would they do; how would they teach anything without the teachers editions to provide them with lesson plans, suggested assignments and test/question/problems answer.

Actually teaching is not what they went to school for after all.

I see the results of their “teaching” on a daily basis and it is apparent that they don’t really teach much.

Ask the 6 dead adults at Sandy Hook, who shielded 20 students with their unarmed bodies how they would vote if only they could have a do-over.

“...educators are calling on political leaders to “arm” them with they really need: books and school supplies...”

Books and supplies are up to the school districts to provide. Instead, most have bloated administrative budgets with salaries of administrators way above the national median income.

It’s the parents’ jobs to make sure their kids have the proper supplies - when I was young, the schools supplied some items (being in Catholic schools, my parents paid for them anyway) and later on, in public schools, art departments and such had supplies, but the budgets weren’t being diverted to so many non-scholastic liberal issues back then - we bought and supplied our own paper/pencils/binders and such and reused text books until they fell apart.....still got great educations back then and learned to do what it takes to develop our own sense of self-worth...

Oh yes, teachers across the board all spontaniosly decided to use the same metaphorical meaning of “armed with” in response to Trump. This is not a case of activism being sold as news, no sir.

What do they need books for? We gave them Apple laptops....and Taj Mahal schools, and 12 kid classrooms.

I think it's time to do a little “claw-back” for the taxpayers.

(thieving educRATs)

Right! Books and school supplies. You bet.

Several years ago I retired from an Illinois inner city, what they like to call, "Alternative School".

During my time at this school, I saw students armed with everything from straight razors to handguns.

Of course the teachers/staff in the school were not allowed to be armed, and in fairness, the student's weapon problem, while serious, was not something that we saw everyday.

That said, while I can positively state that I never saw a weapon on the person of one of our non police staff members during my entire time in this district, I can also say that I would be truly amazed if some of that same staff was not, from time to time, armed.

We could give them money for books and supplies ...

... but the Administrators would just spend it on hiring new assistants for their current assistants.

(from the article):" #ArmMeWith rallying cry "

I refuse to click on anything having to do with HUFFingongtonPuffington post, or the LASlimes.
I would note that the indoctrination centers, sometimes called schools, are run by "Snowflakes"
and are designed to produce nothing more than more "Snowflakes" with Pu$$yHats.
