If the corporations would go to a profit sharing plan the Unions might fall in line. But they wont because the corporations see the unions as the enemy. And they have been for many years. But sooner or later the Unions have to understand that a scanlon type plan would be an advantage to themselves as well as the management.

A Scanlon type bonus plan uses value over costs to figure its profit sharing ratio. It includes the union, the management up to the very top. Everyone but the pencil pusher. It makes the management include labor in decisions at the manufacturing level. This is the one sticking point in such plans because most management cant fathom that a common worker has any intelligence on how to make a manufacturing decision which will enhance profits.
