I thought this was satire, until I read it.

It is still satirical, but the idiot author thinks she is being serious.

There are over 12,000 + specific tariffs on imports to America.
2 more will not destroy the entire economy

Interesting, is it not, that journalists - who have done virtually nothing productive in their entire lives, keep imagining that they actually know things which we do not.
And the Trumpster keeps giving them peanut butter wedgies and laughing at them.

Trump’s tariffs have further divided the CommieCrat Party into the one world globalist faction and the and the union-purchased faction.

National security concerns trump any opposition.

Tell them to shove it. Their tax cuts will offset any increased costs due to these tariffs several times over. Their future profit picture is still far brighter than it was just a few months ago.

Probably because almost every industry who exports is liable to retaliation for the steel and aluminum tariffs.

Maybe these haters can get bids on our tanks from China.

I’m sure the military will get a good deal.

Business leaders from nearly every American industry are furious with President Trump right now.

Tough shit. It’s those very same “business leaders” who have raped our country of an entire industry and people’s livelihoods in order to line their own pockets for decades.

Hated?

I did not know that “industry” could hate. Can turnips hate? I did not know that industry had emotions. Would that be the management of that particular industry? Or the workers? The stockholders?

I am not making a statement of the wisdom of tariffs. In general I think they amount to a VAT tax on domestic steel bought by domestic companies and so in general I oppose them.

But I am wary of anything written in the popular press because the reliability quotient is generally zero with a rounding error.

The fact is that they hate anything that helps salvage and grow the US middle class the wealthy who wag the dog have been working to destroy for decades.

I find it quite amusing how quickly these biased reporters forget the numerous buildings built in our country with “Chinese” steel of inferior quality that have had to be shored up to prevent structural failure along with say other garbage products from that country that has infiltrated our shores.....SHETTROCK ring a bell? I am all for getting U.S. steel and every other building product to be sourced and made here in order to get our economy rockin’ like the 50’s/60’s etc...China could care less if say 10,000 out of say 100,000 of anything they make fails or is of poor quality....when do they ever actually own up to some of the crap they dump everywhere.....Nixon should have left them steering oxen in their rice paddies.

Gee, I've never seen liberals soooo concerned about what industrialists think.

They never raised any concern when the government puts onerous rules and regulations that drive US Businesses overseas in the first place.

My guess it interferes with their plans to raise taxes for their global warming schemes more unbearable to businesses and their costumers....

Trump is right on tariffs — That’s why he was elected

President Trump is simply doing what he said he would do during the presidential campaign – protecting American workers and safeguarding our national security, all at the same time.

The Trump administration, in fact, has a clear and important goal in mind: to protect U.S. jobs and industries that we must have in this country for vital national security reasons.

First, as Peter Navarro pointed out recently to Fox News, the U.S. aluminum industry is down to less than 10 percent of fulfilling our own domestic demand. Six smelters have stopped production since 2013, leaving our nation with only five remaining.

And only two of those smelters are in actual working order. Our steel industry has shed thousands of jobs for decades, and is under real threat of someday being destroyed in the coming years unless it is protected in some reasonable way.

Second, our nation’s security is at stake if these industries were to disappear. As one senior White House official explained to me just this week, this could be a matter of life or death for our country.
