McDormand is married to one of the Coen brothers, and if by inclusive one means including a representative number of blacks, Hispanics, Asians and the like as actors, Coen brother movies are about as non-inclusive as they come.
And I suspect that’s because the Coens only care about making damn good movies, and not who someone else thinks their casts should include, whether they fit their vision of the story or not.
These diversity inclusion clauses sounds like cha ching to labor law attorneys.
...
Yep. They’ll be putting discrimination in writing, signed, and notarized.
A homely actress who has had a long and fruitful career because she was smart enough to get married to one of the Coen brothers long ago.
Big shots already demand all sorts of jobs and perks for their entourages and personal production companies. So if they can get away with insisting that Disney hire more gay actors or Asian makeup artists, they should give it a try, if that's what they really care about. Let's be honest about what we're talking about though. An inclusion rider is just a "woke" way of demanding the ability to discriminate on the basis of race, gender, ethnicity, etc. The theory and motivation behind it might not be as evil as Jim Crow, but it's still discrimination at work. And it is remarkably illiberal, at least when it comes to film crews. What you see on the screen is a matter of artistic vision. If you think a role calls for a black actor, then you're not being unfair to Russell Crowe by casting Denzel Washington. But if you tell a lighting director that he can't have the job he's qualified for because he's not gay or a woman, that's a bit different.
Thanks Kaslin.
"White folks are going down. And Satan is going down. And Farrakhan, by God's grace, has pulled the cover off the eyes of that Satanic Jew, and I'm here to say your time is up, your world is through... Jews were responsible for all of this filth and degenerate behavior that Hollywood is putting out," suggested that Jews are "the children of the devil" and claimed, "when you want something in this world, the Jew holds the door."
Will the inclusion rider be included for historical movies like Dunkirk?
Since 49% voted for Trump, 49% for Clinton, 2% LP or Green, then should all Hollywood crews reflect that diversity?
Should all Silicon Valley crews reflect that diversity?
Should all government bureaucracies reflect that diversity?
Should all subsidy and welfare programs for both the rich and the poor reflect that diversity?
I’m all for diversity in my M&Ms but I don’t want them arranged in a candy bowl in my beige trailer by some nasty shaved head tatted and pierced lesbian or greased up gay dude.

Well, close to half of Americans are Conservative Republicans...
We need to sue Hollywood for 'inclusion'... if this stands...
Yes, McDormand’s husband and brother-in-law should stop hiring the talented Roger Deakins (straight white male) as the cinematographer for their movies, and hire some less talented person who ticks the right box(es) instead. The same goes for Carter Burwell (composer, straight white male) and Mary Zophres (costume designer, straight white female).
To be fair to the lefties (not that they ever are to us), they probably adopt black children from overseas because it is easier and faster than adoption in the USA.
Black characters I can think of in some of the Coen Brothers films (they do have Hispanics and Asians):
The Hudsucker Proxy: The man who worked in mechanical area of the corporate building.
Barton Fink: Can’t think of any.
Burn After Reading: Can’t think of any.
The Big Lebowski: The taxi driver and one of the policemen who came to Lebowski’s house.
Fargo: Can’t think of any.
Intolerable Cruelty: Gus Petch and his buddies.
O Brother, Where Art Thou seems to have had the most black actors.
Pretty good list - but I’m not so sure you can count the taxi driver in “Lebowski” (he liked the Eagles - not sure there’s a black guy in America who likes the Eagles, no matter how black he looks).
The more they do this the less we watch.
‘A homely actress...’
yeah, got to agree; yikes...she was borderline attractive at one time, but that time has flown the coop...
