As Republicans face a potential Democratic wave in this year's midterm elections, Republican Sen. Jeff Flake argued Thursday that his party "might not deserve to lead" given its support for President Donald Trump.

"If we are going to cloister ourselves in the alternative truth of an erratic leader, if we are going to refuse to live in a world that everyone else lives in ... then my party might not deserve to lead," the Arizona senator said in a speech at the National Press Club.

He’s almost right. Neither half of the UniParty deserves to lead. Donald Trump and the American People need to lead.

Until the next Congress is seated. So, so sorry. He really was pretty Conservative when he was elected 6 years ago. Or at least he had voted that way when in the House.

Well, he’s right. The Democrats don’t deserve to lead. (and neither do the Republicans, but at least they’re not quite so bad as the Ds)

Its escaped Flake’s notice Democrat Lamb ran in PA-18 as a Trump acolyte

Could you elaborate on that?

I saw:

Health Care - opposed repeal of ObamaKare
Taxes - Against
Gun Control - supports tougher laws
Tariffs - Supports Trump on this issue
Abortion -- Pro Roe vs. Wade

What am I missing?

They weren’t leading which is what lead to Trump - he still doesn’t get it.

He wants his party to lose in November so he can say “I told you so.” Will we give him what he wants and make him correct, or the opposite?

Memos, deep state, etc. continue to need to be exposed, but not at the expense of not getting seriously organized for this upcoming election. Sadly, no one seems to want to get this effort seriously underway. Democrats want to impeach Trump...so do some Republicans. If the Democrats win, that creates the narrative and the opening to move forward. If President Trump’s own party wins big, that narrative that “the people” want him gone and he needs to be removed “to save the party” evaporates.

Like so many other RHINOs, Flake will sell his Party out for a puff piece in the NY Times. They are so shallow that they just want the Media to say nice things about them.

Flake speaks for the RINO wing of the UniParty which wants the Democrats to win the House in November. Having a GOP majority has exposed the UniParty RINOs who could no longer safely talk like conservatives when it didn't matter, and were forced to oppose President Trump in the open. Now they pine for those safe old Minority days.

Don't believe me? Follow the money -- specifically, how Speaker Ryan's PAC just supported the Democrat Conor Lamb in the PA race.

Republican Jeff Flake: 'My party might not deserve to lead'

You're exactly right, Jeff, and that's precisely why you can't even get re-elected in an open primary state.
