China and Russia are 'aggressively pursuing' hypersonic weapons, and the US can't defend...

America's top nuclear commander described a grim scenario for U.S. forces facing off against a new breed of high-speed weapons that Russia and China are developing.

"We don't have any defense that could deny the employment of such a weapon against us," Air Force Gen. John Hyten, commander of U.S. Strategic Command, told the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday. This means that, as of now, the U.S. has to rely on deterrence against these so-called hypersonic weapons, he said.

Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., then asked the general to explain what a hypersonic weapon is and what it does.

We have a new hyper-sonic missile under development but it looks like we have no effective countermeasure.

No one mentions the Uniparty starved our military of funding for years.

This isn’t a flaw; it was a feature.

The fact we can’t defend ourselves is cuz Trump is colluding with the Russians.

Yeah, sure.

Thank God Bill and Hillary sold all that Loral technology to the Chicoms to finance their global dreams.

This has been going on since 2014 (at least with China), but now we are hearing about it for the first time.

There has never been a good countermeasure to nuclear attacks. That's why we had the Cold War and MAD (mutually assured destruction).

We still have MAD and I'm guessing a few surprise weapons of our own.

It’s called a laser. The military still can’t figure out how to use it, or at least that is what we are told.

Yeah, too bad President Reagan didn't start development of such a weapons system.

Oh, wait.

The author is a millenial who used to work for Lockheed.

The General is a good guy who would probably enjoy working for Lockheed after a solid career.

Just saying.

The US already has proven "hypersonic" reentry vehicles.

**Tested and proven** with a CEP measured in a few meters.

Maybe we shouldn’t attack Syria on behalf of McCain’s/Graham’s head-chopping Jihadists after all, as virtually every NeoCon that Trump is now surrounded by is advocating? Russia has said they will hit back if we do.

I am more concerned about our moral and spiritual strength. Russia and China have sold their souls back to totalitarian darkness and the whims of their elites and oligarch overlords.

U.S. is putting up a fight with MAGA.

I view this as good news.

We used to be told that WWIII would last over thirty minutes.

Not it looks like they've got it down to under ten.

The future is so bright we're all going to have to start wearing shades.
