MONTERREY (Reuters) - Mexican left-wing presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador has an 18-point lead ahead of the July 1 election, according to a poll published on Monday that showed him with a growing advantage at the start of formal campaigning.

Lopez Obrador, who launched his campaign on Sunday, holds 38 percent of the vote, according to the poll by Parametria, published by Reuters on Monday ahead of wider distribution. That compared to 35 percent in its previous poll.

A Lopez Obrador victory could usher in a Mexican government less accommodating toward the United States, where President Donald Trump has stoked trade tensions with Mexico and aggressively moved to curb immigration.

Lopez Obrador has backed the North American Free Trade Agreement, but his plan to review newly issued oil contracts sparked worries he will deter foreign investment.

It turned out PAN’s plan to make Mexico “better” involved moving tens of millions of their criminal and peasant underclass to the USA

Not only their peasants, but their gang members and garbage-picking indigents. There's no argument that getting rid of them probably did make Mexico better. The trouble is, that strategy is a zero sum game, with the US at the losing end of the deal.

And the neat little trick is if “White America” complains about their trash being dumped here, Mejico can call us a bunch of “racists” (nevermind it’s the White elites in Mejico (Fox) doing the dumping AND the name-calling).

I never understood the “compassion” argument. it is not compassion to create an underclass living in fear of the law, completely at the mercy of the criminals.

Sure you do, if you know the history of the Catholic Church. How do you think all those Kings kept all those surfs locked to their land. No freedom, pure poverty, and the Kings were happy to have all that slave labor.

While the Church was being fed future Cardinals, Nuns, and Popes by the Kings who sent their siblings to the monasterys. Instead of being put into the Towers to die, the siblings gained control of the Church. This became a symbiotic relationship where they both controlled the peasants, while living of the fruits of their forced labor.

Like Socialism/communism, the peasants are kept in check through fear. In the Feudal system of the dark ages, the King would put fear of death in them while the Church convinced them it was their lot in life and their reward would come in death when they made it to heaven.

The hierarchy of the Church still thinks similarly as they used to. Why else do you think the Catholic Church always supports Socialism and those who are leftists in politics? Like they did with the Kennedy's, the catholic Church chose who they think they will have a good working relationship with. Those are always leftist politicians who push Socialism, because it is the best system for the Catholic Church to keep the people under control.

How else do you think the Catholic Church has dominated Religion in the Southern Hemisphere all the centuries, while convincing the peasants to elect Socialists instead of Capitalists?

I have many Catholic friends here, and they know the history of the Church.

But I’ll be on the watch. :)
