This article is on a jury decision about Apple infringing four patents that the patent office has already ruled are invalid. . . but that are being appealed to the appellate court which allowed this trial to go ahead anyway "because it was so far along." Link Only because of Bloomberg:

Love Apple or hate them... ANY court ruling that is based on an invalidated patent... is it’s “patently” wrong! (Pun intended).
In all seriousness... WHY would a court allow a proceeding to continue when the ONLY basis for it has been proven beyond all doubt to be baseless - ie: a patent ruled by the patent office to be invalid?
