Congressmen Repeatedly Failed To Supervise IT Aides With ‘Keys To The Kingdom,’ Officials Say

Only one IT aide currently working directly for members of Congress has ever completed a background check, members’ data have been improperly mixed with other members’ data, and members provided almost no supervision, officials revealed Thursday in a House hearing spurred by “egregious” violations by former IT aide Imran Awan.

Members of Congress threw “$10 million” in additional funding to the [chief administrative officer (CAO)] in order to enhance their cybersecurity program” in June 2017. The move followed repeated cybersecurity threats against members of Congress, including the detection of what an IG report called “unauthorized access” by Awan. They also had the CAO and others propose how best to clamp down on vulnerabilities. But the CAO revealed Thursday that members blocked the resulting proposal, which called for eliminating Awan’s job category, that of a floating IT aide accountable only to members.

"Why do I not see the word, “Democrat” in this article?"

I did a "find" search for the term Democrat. It's only in there four times. The term Republican is in there six times.

instead of sing private contractors for IT staff in DC. we should have the IT staff be employees of the military or one of the security agencies. the information is just to sensitive to be handled the way it is being handled.

ACE REPORTER LUKE ROSIAK REPORTS on a Thursday House hearing:

<><>the Awan/Paki spy ring improperly mixed Democrat members’ data with other members’ data,

<><> Democrat members provided almost no supervision,

<><> there are “egregious” violations by former IT aide Imran Awan,

<><> Congress threw in $10 million extra tax dollars in supposedly enhance their "cybersecurity program".

These troubling facts point to Democrat wrongdoing on an epic scale.

One need not be a rocket scientist to conclude Democrats looked the other way b/c they got something of value in return for giving the Awans free reign over us US intel.

What were they getting?

Two things that matter most to Democrats. Votes and money.

The 44 Dems who “shared” the Awan IT services are refusing to cooperate because they’re all dirty.

Betcha

He's Cali's AG now, but back then he was Cong Becerra who headed the House Congressional Democrat Caucus. Becerra gave the Paki spies free reign over all US intel.

<><> The Awans had access to all the Democrats Congressional data including Democrats emails. Imran Awan is the walking example of an insider threat, a criminal actor who had access to everything.” “They were using Xavier Becerra’s House Democratic Caucus as their central service warehouse. The data was completely out of the members’ possession. Does it mean it was sold to the Russians?

<><> Imran’s wife Hina Alvi was the only IT officially authorized to use Xavier Becerra's House Democratic Caucus computer equipment. She is on record as logging on about 300 times......as the rest of the Awan crew were accessing intel on Becerra's computer thousands of times using Becerra's passwords and codes.

Becerra was looking the other way (snort).

Becerra---now Cali's top lawman----refuses to answer questions about this.

<><>The Awan family was logging in to Xavier Becerra’s House Democratic Caucus server with 17 different accounts belonging to Congressional offices whose data should have had no connection to the caucus, according to the House investigative report. The patterns were consistent with data being funneled onto Becerra’s server from other members of Congress, but the members said Becerra never alerted them of any aberrations. Yep, it's a mystery why stories that make democrats look bad don't make the papers...or even FoxNews nowadays...

I agree with you, and if military handled all the IT work and already have their security clearances....any criminal acts by congress might get uncovered and prosecuted. I suspect they use criminals because some of them are criminals, who commit acts unknown to us!

Somehow maybe that could be sent as suggestion to President’s team? You have great idea, let them know.

Aren't congressmen subject to the same laws regarding "gross negligence" in the handling of classified material as everyone else?

Some Pollyanna on another thread claims there are 25K sealed indictments ready to go - as if the Republic is about to be saved, but none of these treasonous donkeys will have their offices raided and searched I guarantee.
