Paul Ryan warns ‘blue wave’ could wipe out Trump accomplishments

MILWAUKEE — House Speaker Paul Ryan said Saturday he thinks President Donald Trump will be an asset to GOP candidates this fall in states like Wisconsin that he narrowly won, even as he warned fellow Republicans that a “blue wave” could wipe out advancements made during his presidency.

Ryan addressed about 600 people at the Wisconsin Republican convention, his final one after 20 years in office. The state’s entire GOP congressional delegation, along with Gov. Scott Walker, honored Ryan, who received a standing ovation and chant from the audience of “Thank you, Paul!”

Ryan told delegates he was surprised on election night in 2016 when it became clear Trump was going to win Wisconsin — the first Republican to carry the state since 1984. Trump won by less than 1 point.

Ryan told reporters later he doesn’t think controversies surrounding Trump are resonating with voters in states like Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

The genaric polls on the midterms had dems up by like 20 points, now it’s even.

20% of democrats support Trump, while 80% republicans support him. Of course the 20% are rinos like Romney, Graham, McCain.

How bout my Caps

Isn’t this the guy who’s rumored to have attended the infamous tarmac plane meeting between Lynch & Bubba? How long before this useless UniParty hack is gone? Whatever it is, it isn’t soon enough.

you could see that the Speaker is warning against complacency

He needs to talk to his colleagues in Congress (and himself) first.

For the “blue wave” to be a credible threat, it would only be necessary for the Republicans to fall silent on the works that Donald Trump has inspired the American people and the Congress that represents them, to embrace as their own. The flood of cash in high places and across the media, delivering the anti-Trump message, COULD carry this “blue wave”, but they have no positive message.

And certainly no program beneficial to America. Reinstatement of regulations, taxes raised to confiscatory levels, and most of all, driving Donald Trump and Michael Pence from office, much as Nixon and Agnew were driven out, by resignation if possible, or by impeachment and vote of “no confidence”, in what has become not a representative Congress, but a parliament of whores.

The only wave this one is concerned about is the sea of green coming his way when he becomes a lobbyist for K-Street. Dial 1-sel-yur-soul....

Ryan underestimates Donald Trump or perhaps is wishfully thinking.

Strikes me as wishful thinking on Ryan’s part. If he’d said this 6 months ago, when there appeared to be something of a wave; well, maybe. But NOW? After the blue statistical advantage has evaporated? Now he flaps his pie hole about a wave? Assinine. Goodbye Ryan. Mind the doorknob!

Well Paul, this is mostly your fault. You abandoned the Republican platform. Voters expected you and your colleagues to advance the platform. But no you showed your vanity, upset with the people selecting Trump, you did nothing. Now the voters want more change. Good bye!
