Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-N.Y.), who visited detention centers for illegal immigrants in Texas and his district in New York, told C-SPANs Washington Journal that the facilities were well-run and the illegal minors that he saw did not seem to be distraught.
We see the photographs of kids in cages sleeping on mats, and thats really when theyre first apprehended by law enforcement officials Border Patrol, Homeland Security-related things. Theyre then transferred to other facilities that are run by Health and Human Services, the Office of Refugee Resettlement. I visited El Paso this past weekend, Suozzi said.
I visited the site in my district actually in Syosset that are run by not-for-profits, and the facilities I visited were very well run. Its an awful policy. The idea of separating families is awful. Its terrible, rotten circumstances, but the facilities were relatively well run, he said.
As an example, the congressmen said the kids were had medical facilities, recreational facilities, an outdoor soccer field, and even a woodworking shop.
In Texas, in Torneo, in El Paso, it was a hot desert environment, but there were air conditioned tents. Theres medical facilities. There was dining halls. There were recreational facilities. There was an outdoor soccer field. It was too hot for me, but the kids were playing soccer outside, Suozzi said.

That’s probably because they are treated better by our government than theirs.
Clean , clean cloths, well fed , well rested
AC! That alone................

We won’t be hearing that on CNN, MSNBC, etc.
I’m afraid for that Congresmans safety.
I think Nasty Pelosi will put him in a wrestling lock from the back while Maxine Waters and Chuckie “the snake” Schumer take turns beating him with a baseball bat.

... I had a double tap the other day...
Did the attacker survive?
Darn, our facilities have to seem like heaven to some poor child that has just walked 1,200 miles through Mexico.
It may also be that these kids are treated better in detention than at home.
Three hots & a cot, no beatings & no forced prostitution probably looks pretty good to some of these people.
Exactly! This is the most secure and comfortable they have ever been in their lives. Especially compared to their most recent experiences of having traveled through Mexico and the desert.
That is a sad fact and I really do have compassion for them but there must be at least two billion people in the world that have it just as bad. Can we let two billion people move on in here? Obviously not.
You are the one separating these families by encouraging the coyote run human trafficking. And of course turning a blind eye to southern nations overrun by CIA sponsored cartels and gangs.
Thousands of these kids have been sold to smugglers, and no one will come for them. Others will never be claimed by the adults they came to the US with, because they are not related, the kids serving as props to get them in. What do we do with over 10,000 abandoned children? Will the bleeding hearts adopt them?
Nicest place they’d ever been. If they ask about their folks, what do they hear — probably something like a court guardian will be looking into it. The children aren’t stupid, they knew there was a risk of running into law enforcement. Some might welcome that if they had an abusive life at home, or were dragged in here as nothing but pawns.
President Trump put the dims in a bad spot...the guy in charge of Southwest Key is now or was the head of La Raza. Dims don’t dare say anything bad about the facilities once they are processed past Customs. That was a stroke of genius.
Paid for by the American Taxpayer.
“We wont be hearing that on CNN, MSNBC, etc.” - Particularly since the guy saying it is a Democrat. They can’t let anyone know that one of their own has seen the actual truth.
