Newt Gingrich: Trump's Putin press conference 'most serious mistake of his presidency'
Washington Examiner ^ | July 16, 2018 | Naomi Lim

Posted on 07/16/2018 3:23:29 PM PDT by FewsOrange

Newt Gingrich on Monday offered rare, scalding criticism of President Trump, demanding that the president explain the comments he made during his controversial press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the conclusion of their talks in Helsinki.

"President Trump must clarify his statements in Helsinki on our intelligence system and Putin," the former House speaker wrote on Twitter. "It is the most serious mistake of his presidency and must be corrected—-immediately."

Trump received widespread scorn on Monday after he said at the media availability that he has yet to see any compelling reason why the Kremlin would have interfered in the 2016 election.

His comments follow special counsel Robert Mueller's indictment in federal court on Friday, which alleged 12 Russian military officials hacked Democratic email servers during the campaign.

Gingrich has been a vocal supporter of Trump, but he has on occasion provided constructive critiques of his performance.

Gingrich chastised Trump in April, claiming his administration had botched the release of Deputy Attorney Rod Rosenstein's memo outlining problems with fired FBI Director James Comey.

I’m owning it then. Putin caused Trump to win. Why fight it any more? Let’s come out of the closet and thank him.

“Thank you, das vedanya, President Putin, for making us elect your boy Donald Trump! He has already kept so many of the campaign promises you made him give! Even though he is just your puppet, he has represented the average American’s interests against all odds. All of our politicians are against him and yet your powerful support keeps him fighting on to help us achieve freedom. I am glad you forced us with that powerful social media subliminal message to elect him. Please keep interfering in our elections. You have helped our economy and brought us more freedom and prosperity. Once more, thank you, das vedanya.”

Two-Faced Newt -- engineered the "Contract with America", wrested control of Congress, then proceeded to do nothing but temporarily balance the budget. Thanks FewsOrange.

Newt: a small slender-bodied amphibian with lungs and a well-developed tail, typically spending its adult life on land and returning to water to breed.

Swamp creature

>>This whole trip has been a PR disaster, which will be reflected in the polls for all the races this fall.

Forget Putin. Think Russia, especially the ethic Russian people. Since the prancing fools of Europe have decided to commit cultural suicide, the Christian people of Russia are our closest brothers on Earth. The Humanist forces of atheism and islam are encircling us and are picking us off, one heart at a time.

“People who bother to vote in midterms are concerned about the contents of their wallets. “

Moreover, come November when we will not be at war with Russia, and the world has not ended, no one will remember Helsinki.

“NOW can you Gingrich fanboys/girls finally grasp why I don’t talk the guy up.”

I’ve always held him in high regard, but he sure can put his foot in it too. In this case, I just think time has passed him by. Decades have come and gone since his day in the sun, and even then, he was outmaneuvered at the end.

The Post WWII era is ending. It began with the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact and Soviet Union. Entropy and costs are now dissolving the Western models too. Newt doesn’t see that. Probably can’t.

Take a deep breath and drive out of DC Newt. The rest of us think this is another Wile E Coyote anvil on the head for Democrats. We see it why don’t you.

both.

manup. do you think the trip was going to be portrayed as anything other than a disaster?
also thank the head swamp creature at the DOJ for being political and announcing the Mueller 12 Russian indictments right before this summit.
Intentionally trying to sabotage POTUS and providing the narrative.

You’ve been painting without adequate ventilation, I see. Light headedness, dizziness and inane babble are warning signs.

I was hoping that it would have given McCain a fatal stroke.

We'd never know!

There are too many people saying the same stupid things about the meeting.

It is collusion.

And they are scared shirtless about what is going to come out about them.

It must be bad.

It must be REALLY bad!

the crap we’re hearing about this summit with Putin is the same crap the left and media were spewing when POTUS met with Kim Jong-un North Korea. “he let him win” “he elevated him” blah blah

“This whole trip has been a PR disaster’

I disagree. I work with the public and most Pro-Trumpers don’t spend as much effort in learning news as we do here. (any where near the amount.)

They worry about the border and economy and that’s about it.

Once again the Fig Newton reaffirms for me why I don't trust him and think he is vastly overrated as a conservative spokesman and wise man.

Newt's political foresight has given us an image of him:

REMEMBER

the photo of Newt and Pelousi seated on the sofa side by side, the image of old, close friends.
