I think you’re exactly right about testing the waters.
In addition, I think they are planting suggestions for those among the loony left who are susceptible to suggestions.
Alex Jones has a lot of baggage, it is obvious. I started listening to some of his stuff once in a while with a grain of salt. We have to admit he talked about the things in the current revelations we now see on Drudge a long time ago.
One thing that makes it easier for him: he can make up wacky sounding absurd things the libs will soon do and he is often right because the libs are so wacky and absurd.

DOJ is clearly the seat of the insurrection. They have gone completely rogue under the leadership of Rosenstein. They see that Trump’s strength in Congress is not sufficient for him to take action against them. The President is in a box there, perhaps because his primary base of support is the military, and you can only use the military for one thing. Trump’s not a disruptor, not at this point anyway, he’s a builder. So he’s somewhat hamstrung stamping out the insurrection at the DOJ. Rosenstein, a true Machiavellian, is the lynch-pin to the entire disruption. He HAS to be taken out of his position.
Remember, the Left suddenly all starts saying nearly word for word a certain attack topic on Trump.
He’s mentally unfit and can be removed from office, the electors are going to save the country and not vote him into office in January, 2107,he’s vulgar and racist and white supremacist.
Now they say what if there’s a military coup against him?
And why not have angry mobs stop his cabinet and White House staff and family from casually going out to eat or to a show? Remember Pence couldn’t sit to watch Hamilton?
We’d better be ready. Maybe a federal judge in Hawaii or Oregon can help us. Oh, wait.....

Let the Secret Service question Mudd at the least. Mudd shouldn’t be allowed on tv. Really they should waterboard Mudd to see what dirt he knows and make better mud.
