IRAN ON THE ROPES?

I confess that even after I boarded the Trump train–basically, when no alternative was left–I didn’t imagine that Trump would prove to be a foreign policy genius. But isn’t that what we are seeing? Improving our trade deals, finally doing something about North Korea, standing up to Putin’s Russia, pushing back against Chinese theft of intellectual property, exposing anti-Semitism and fecklessness in the U.N., getting more contributions from NATO allies–it’s been a heck of a year and a half!

How is it going so far? AFP reports:

Iran’s currency hit a record low on Sunday of 100,000 rials to the dollar amid a deepening economic crisis and the imminent return of full US sanctions.

100,000 rials to the dollar isn’t Venezuela territory, but it is getting there. Just a few more orders of magnitude to go!

The rial has lost half its value against the dollar in just four months, having broken through the 50,000-mark for the first time in March.

In other words, in response to Trump’s policies.

The government attempted to fix the rate at 42,000 in April, and threatened to crack down on black market traders.

Good luck with that. Price fixing has never worked anywhere, but socialists and mullahs will never give up on it.

Iran, like Venezuela, shuffles the deck chairs by firing the head of the country’s central bank. Which will make zero difference.

So, what is causing Iran’s financial crisis?

The currency collapse was encouraged by the US announcement in May that it was pulling out of the 2015 nuclear deal, that lifted certain sanctions in exchange for curbs to Iran’s atomic programme.

Get the secular Iranians weapons and logistics. Kill the mullahs and purge the radical islamists.

Wonder how the US flooding the market with oil and nat gas might be hurting Iran economically? And Russia, and Venezuela, and...

I would think that 1000 equaling a penny is so bad that it doesn’t matter. Already worthless for all practical purposes.

The difference is having a legitimate President that loves the country.

The Kenyanesian Usurper wasn’t and didn’t.

Didn't Obuma dole out 150 BILLION to Iran?

I wonder what they did with all our hard-earned tax money?

One would figure it went to arms development. But after reading this article, perhaps it was just used for more mundane things like rice and beans, just to keep the country afloat, the people fed, and the rulers in power.

Until it runs out anyways.

They have been packaged out to the 4-man Iranian Terror cells to finance their global terror network. You can do a lot of harm with all that taxpayers money that Obummer & Valarie Jarrett gave to their Iranian masters.

Note also how their democrat allies said nary a word of protest nor lifted an eyebrow over it!

I know. Really makes me mad to think about how much of our money he gave away.

He used to make fun of rich people acting like they were lottery winners.

Turns out he was a lottery winner and he pissed it away.

They way he and Mooch spent our money, in what he gave away and he-she spent on vacays, well it really chaffs my hide.

Exactly!

I have to laugh at the Dem narrative on Russia, because by “drill baby drill” alone, not even considering help to Ukraine, Trump is really hurting Putin.

And Putin is very pissed at Trump giving/selling the Javelin anti-tank missile to the Ukraines, so we just said “Its just for defensive purposes only”! It really is a total game changer on today’s battlefields.

From the 150 billion released (of which 1.8 billion was ‘cash’)...Iran cannot say in public what happened to the money.

The general feeling is that the cash was floated over to the banks in Iran, and quickly dispersed out as Iranian bought dollars to shovel out of Iran...over to Dubai for investments or condos. Only my humble guess, but that 1.8 billion was likely gone within 30 days of delivery.

From the other 150 billion? As the peace deal was worked out, there were literally hundreds of purchases being lined up via various European companies. The national airline was going to get a hundred new planes. Various infrastructure projects were planned out...roads and bridges, etc. With the peace deal gone? It would be curious to know the present status of the 150 billion and if any of it still resides within Iran. Maybe half of it went to Dubai as well.

That 150 billion dollars was actually Iran’s money that had been frozen for a long time in U.S. banks.

I wouldn’t have had a problem with returning it to a democratic, friendly and pro-U.S. Iran. But not to the mad mullahs that Obama loved so much.

"Is Donald Trump a foreign policy genius? I assume not. But still: if he were, how would his moves over the last 18 months be different? "

Even though the swamp and its fellow denizen creatures in the media would like you to believe differently, it doesn't take a genius to understand foreign policy. Foreign policy is the policy of human beings, albeit beings who speak foreign languages, and live in foreign cultures. They are, nonetheless, humans. Understanding humans gets you a long way toward understanding foreign policy.

Much as the swamp would like you to believe differently, the heralded foreign policy geniuses of the swamp don't seem to understand human beings. I give you B. H. Obama as a supreme example. Someone, like Trump, who has spent a life dealing with corrupt unions, corrupt politicians, bureaucrats, and businessmen, is far more adept at dealing with foreign policy than the fat brie sucking wine guzzling, expense report living, freeloading 'diplomats' who call themselves 'foreign policy geniuses'.

The mullahs used some of the money to spread mayhem throughout the Middle East. The rest was safely tucked away in numbered accounts for their retirement. The only place the money was not used was to help the average Iranian citizen.

So, the Mullahs have one option....... going to a shooting war.

When Japan was backed into a corenr, it attacked pearl Harbor.

Where will Iran attack?

We should be working right now with the Mossad on wet ops to take out key leaders of the Revolutionary Guard.

I didn't know that. Thanks.

Was made Obuma dole out their money in coinage and tender that was not American dollars, or whatever that was?
