“Gender diversity brings a variety of perspectives to the table that can help foster new and innovative ideas,” said Democratic Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson of Santa Barbara, who is sponsoring the bill with Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins of San Diego.

“It’s not only the right thing to do, it’s good for a company’s bottom line.”

And the government of California is such a well run entity where it needs to dictate to the private sector. Anyhow would a transgender count on way or the other?

You are on the the unfortunate right track. This is only the first step; next will come the requirement that all the special classes be represented on the boards and then, let’s just not bother with the Whites.

I identify as a woman ... who is attracted to women. Yes, that’s right. I’m an XY Lesbian, with intact fully functional external “plumbing”. How’s that for “diversity”.

You don't want that job.

Really.

You don't.

1) Too many "inspectees" will fail the inspection.

2) Does Dr. Chopitoff's work count?

3) Even the ones who pass, aren't the ones you want to see.

Any such law is illegal and unconstitutional.

Also, since there is an infinite spectrum of genders this is “unfair” to all those genders in between male and female. Besides, anyone can change his/her/its birth record and “become” legally another gender.

Q: if someone is given a position because of gender, and he/she/it changes his/her/its gender, is he/she/it guilty of fraud?

What about a man who simply self-identifies as a woman? Would he count? And if so, would he have to shave before every board meeting?

What if the company is run by women?
Do they have to hire a Man?
I’m guessing no.

The State might equally decree that any or all conceivable minorities also be represented on corporate boards - the mentally handicapped, left-handers, Lithuanians, etc.

The bottom line is that the State is directing how private business operates simply because it wants to, not to restrain any infringement on others by businesses. There is no end to the appetite for such arbitrary control over other people’s property and freedom.

Titular private ownership, with effective State control, is the Fascist economic model.

”It’s not only the right thing to do, it’s good for a company’s bottom line.”

Typically, companies know what’s good for their bottom line and do these things on their own without being forced by law.

“I’m guessing no.”

Well, you see, the mere presence of a male makes the company less diverse. If the company is all female, it is diverse, because it does not have any men. The company would be even more diverse if it excluded Whites, because the presence of whites also decreases diversity.
