Trump's son-in-law Jared and his most unlikely ally Van Jones are pushing Criminal Justice Reform through every nook and cranny in the White House: "If only we could give them more free stuff and look the other way during more criminal activity," that should do it, right?

No he is not falling for anything you keep your enemies closer idiot. However it will not hurt to have three marijuana charges not a felony anymore that would be very advantageous and the more blacks you have voting for you the better this writer is a moron.

And the people who run that Chocolate City are in full agreement about the cause: black people are victims of relentless, relentless white racism.

but an individual who chooses to think can overcome a society's negative influences and can make free choices about how to act and what to do. They can choose to not do things that will cause them to end up in prison. If they choose to do things that will cause them to end up in prison, it is their own fault. If they choose to not think and end up as deterministic automatons, that is their own fault too.

I could be wrong, but I think DJT’s idea of Justice Reform and what the Jared/Van Jones duo are pushing for could well be two different things.

Yep. The worst thing is to be dogmatic. Give in where you can and where it makes sense. You’ll win some new voters with very little downside.

prisons are full of innocent black people who should be released immediately – black people who never should have been arrested in the first place

Then why didn’t Obama release them? Who was stopping him?

The late Chuck Colson, the still with us Marvin Olasky (cf. here), and a number of other conservative thinkers, have been promoting prison reform for a long time, since before the Reagan administration for Colson at least, based primarily on finding alternatives for non-violent offenders. Get rid of "do drugs, do time" and the prison population could shrink enough to make room for everyone who is a violent offender, which would make the streets safer and the prison costs lower. Trump, I am sure, understands this.

Yesterday, POTUS said we needed ID to buy groceries and THE LIAR MEDIA WENT FRICKING CRAZY.

They went so crazy that they talked nonstop about what things ID was needed for, more than a dozen items.

-—> They would never have focused and blasted their channels about required ID situations if POTUS had not ‘erred’.

Strategic error.

Well done Mr. President!

Mission Accomplished!

Frank Marshall Davis and/or Saul Alinsky and/or Cloward and Piven.

Never let a crisis go to waste.

The issue with the left is never the issue; the issue is always the revolution. Obama didn't want to solve the problem; he wanted to create a bigger problem, which the revolution could capitalize upon.

This writer is an idiot.
Does he not know this is one of the Left’s pet issues and Trump is defusing it. Also nobody should serve 20 years in prison for smoking a joint.

“Obama didn’t want to solve the problem; he wanted to create a bigger problem, which the revolution could capitalize upon.”

Tis better financial gain to be a part of the problem than to be part of the solution.

Of course, it will. Pot and drug usage will explode and there will be more negligent deaths as a result.

One of the reason the crime rate rate dropped so dramatically from early '90s on is because of tougher sentencing on drug trafficking and abuses under Reagan.

Going soft on that is as stupid as embracing socialism.

The writer (Colin Flaherty, author of Don't make the Black Kids Angry) is by no means an idiot, but I don't think he has it right in this case.

One of the key things to having an understanding of Trump, in my opinion, is to not focus on what he says, focus on what he does.

The author is listening to what he says, which is the mistake a lot of people, including many highly important and influential people, up to and including the leader of China and the various countries in the EU, not to mention our OWN politics and media.

As for the author himself, Colin Flaherty, he has been fighting a long, and singularly lonely battle of speaking out publicly on the subject of black mob violence which goes nearly completely unreported, and when it is reported, one would think it is a bunch of white teenagers, not a black mob committing violence. Colin Flaherty has been abused, physically threatened, and his livelihood attacked because he speaks the truth on this subject, and has been doing it largely alone in the public space.

He has fought this battle alone with very, VERY few people willing to defend him as he touches the third rail of politics, the false belief in his words that Leftists push: "...Black people are relentless victims of relentless white racism all the time everywhere all the time and that explains everything..."

I think he is wrong here, but he is a brave and vocal man, and no idiot at all. And contrary to how even conservatives paint him, the man is not a racist. He simply speaks the truth which runs against the leftist brainwashing dogma.

Marijuana charges are BS. Marijuana is legal in a lot of states. Marijuana should be as legal as alcohol. Old marijuana charges should be deleted from the records.
