"Evil is a make-believe concept we've invented to deal with the complexities of fellow humans."
A progressive young American couple was killed in an Islamic State-claimed terrorist attack last month while on a bike trip around the world.
Jay Austin and Lauren Geoghegan, who were both in their late 20s, quit their jobs in 2017 to embark on a trip around the world. Austin, a vegan, and Geoghegan, a vegetarian, decided that they're were wasting their lives working.
"Ive grown tired of spending the best hours of my day in front of a glowing rectangle, of coloring the best years of my life in swaths of grey and beige, Austin wrote on his blog before he quit. Ive missed too many sunsets while my back was turned. Too many thunderstorms went unwatched, too many gentle breezes unnoticed.
The couple documented their year-long journey on social media until it came to a tragic and gruesome end in Tajikistan, a country with a known terrorist presence.

They were good as dead before they started the trip. Shame they didn't have family or friends with enough common sense to get through to these Nuts. It's one thing to want out of the Rat race, another to be so naive.
The STUPIDITY is just STUNNING, and we all sit around and wonder HOW these IDIOTS get elected to lead our nation!!! This is a PRIME EXAMPLE of just how IGNORANT voters have become!!! Biking through ISIS territory to prove how loving people really are LOL, LOL, LOL, just STUNNING!!!!
I wonder what chain of influential people, parents, teachers, friends, professors, etc convinced them that evil is make-believe?
Seems like the Tweety-Bird look gives it away.
I almost feel sorry for them, being so naive. They must have believed Marie Harf saying ISIS just needed jobs.
I guess they got to celebrate diversity and meet new, interesting people. And then they met ISIS.
Maybe Freud was right about the existence of a “death drive”.
Can’t fix stupid.
Driving to work one more a Jim Gaffigan joke on the radio:
“I’m a vegetarian. Well, not a strict vegetarian. I eat fish. And chicken. And beef.”
” Humans who believe in a mean God aren’t kind. ISIS is some of them. Others post on FR.”
Nope. This wasn't a "death drive" it was a "death pedal"...
To all the civil service employees on this thread, I'm sorry to have to say it but some of your co-workers are IDIOTS.
Hipsters with a serious superiority complex....until they got an education on the Real World.

Ahhhh...I see....
Had to look that one up. Wow.

According to Rex van Schalkwyk, in his 1998 book One Miracle Is Not Enough, “Supporters of the three men accused of murdering [her] burst out laughing in the public gallery of the Supreme Court today when a witness told how the battered woman groaned in pain.” (pp. 18889.) Four people were convicted of killing her.[5]:1718
In 1998, all were pardoned by South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, when they stated that their actions had been politically motivated.[1]:71
Biehl’s family supported the release of the men.[1]:71 Her father shook their hands and stated,
The most important vehicle of reconciliation is open and honest dialogue... we are here to reconcile a human life [that] was taken without an opportunity for dialogue. When we are finished with this process we must move forward with linked arms.[6]
So her family were idiot liberals, too.
sigh - and I keep on being in a hurry ... LOL
Driving to work one MORNING, a Jim Gaffigan joke on the radio:
No need to have to apologize to the civil service workers on this site they KNOW what idiots they are working with everyday!!!!
A vegetarian will let everyone in earshot know that they are a vegetarian, virtue signalers extraordinaire. They especially like showing up at a dinner party for which someone has worked hard all day preparing, and informing everyone present that "they don't eat meat".
A vegan is exactly the same, except louder and even more obnoxious and persistent. Hard to believe, but even harder to bear. Vegans especially like virtue signaling to vegetarians; it's sort of like two religious cults slugging it out.
I’m going to guess that this is not going to help Tajikistan’s tourist industry. Does Tajikistan even have a tourist industry? Do they have any industry for that matter?
