ZMan, there's a simple coding change way to accomplish this.

Just stick a <ul> at the top of your text and it will solve this problem.

Not having a margin in the posts is not an issue for me. I appreciate having the extra real estate.

However, the FReeper profiles do not indent far enough and so they are often very hard to read.

Thanks for the explanation. You have to understand that the overall control of the way FR looks is up to John Robinson, HTML programmer and all-around hardware whiz. But John does this alone, in his spare time. As a result, FR does not look like the NYT or WaPo or Axios or any of the ‘big names’ who have many people working full time to produce their look.

FR is simple and I hope it stays that way. This format has stood the test of time and gets the job done given the available resources. Can’t ask for more than that.

Yes I could make my browser window smaller but this is about the only site that uses no margins and just about every other site, is better viewed with my browser window maximized.

Get a bigger monitor. Problem solved.

I find the <ul> tag pretty FR friendly. I use it often when I have a piece of text to indent. I happily discovered you could use it that way by accident.

FReepers live in a deplorable (or deprecated) pre-CSS age anyway. But learning the old HTML styling techniques sharpens the brain and keeps Free Republic more secure. We should count our blessings :- )
