Some people never learn, and thank God for that. If failure were an actual deterrent we would have never made it to the moon and back or accomplished any of the most of amazing feats of mankind. That spirit doesnt always have a victorious outcome, and thanks God for that too. Because if it did, Hollywood wouldnt keep shooting themselves in their collective foot and doing damage to the liberal agenda they continue to push.
Variety reports Hollywood is gearing up for midterms, meaning those spoiled millionaires with more time on their hands than anything resembling understanding of what real life is like for the vast majority of people at which they look down their noses will be back to attempt to impose their will on flyover country once again.
These elitists people who havent heard the word no from anyone with the power to back it up and havent been anywhere they couldnt afford something since their teen years are poised tell Americans what is best for them.
For decades, people who work in make believe a few months a year for more money than the average American will earn in their lifetime have been trying to convince people they know, and care about, whats best for them. It always rings hallow because, with rare exception, people who has no need to ask the price of anything simply has no clue what someone who has to be acutely aware of the cost of everything thinks about life. When a Spielberg or DiCaprio sees something they want, they buy it. When a factory worker does, they save for it or accept they cant afford it. Those two worlds are universes apart.
That is why these pushes from liberal Hollywood fail. Its also why they always try, and why thats a good thing for Republicans.
As Variety put it, As the fall sprint approaches, it will be hard to avoid the industrys attempts to influence the results to highlight a sense of urgency in this years races and to temper outcry over Trump.
Yes, they will try, and they will spend a lot of money trying. But the chasm between what someone who needs to shower before they go to work and someone who needs to shower because of a day of hard work has never been greater.
The person who vacations on a party yacht filled with Victorias Secret models has no clue what matters to people who goes camping with friends. While the world would be a happier place if there were more party yachts and Victorias Secret models, most people just want to be left alone to live their lives. Thats where Hollywood loses the public.
They think theyre selling people freedom in the form of government largess. But people know its slavery with a velvet cover.
The one thing the progressive left doesnt understand about most Americans is they dont live in a constant state of jealousy and envy of people who have more than they do. They arent looking to empower the government to take from someone with more to give things to them. Even if theyd like to have a party yacht filled with Victorias Secret models, theyd rather earn it themselves. More importantly, whatever their lives may be, they hope their children earn a better one and are willing to work hard and sacrifice to help them achieve it.
The promise of a shortcut doesnt hold water. Most people just want to be left the Hell alone.
Hollywood has tried, with some success, to instill jealousy as a value. Reality shows highlight the vapid and idle as if they are something to aspire to be, and the weak have bought into the idea that getting attention is more important than why that attention is gotten. People with pride, however, have not. And there are more of us whod rather earn our way through life than have it stolen for us by our rulers. We rule ourselves.
Thats ultimately why all these bi-annual pushes by Hollywood have failed. They may be able to tell a good story every once in a while, or make us laugh, but their desire to manipulate us doesnt work because they dont understand us. They cant. You cant really understand ideals and people you hold in contempt. And after all those years of failure and all that money wasted, their collective contempt for the only people whove told them no and made it stick has grown to the point that it taints everything they do.
Thats how they can make a movie about the first moon landing and leave out the planting of the American flag. Its how they can keep making movies about how awful they think the country is and have them not find audiences. Its how they could abuse their positions and leave a path of sexual assault in their wake and think nothing of it until it was exposed. And its how they and the fellow leftists will ultimately lose.
So I welcome Hollywoods recommitment to fighting for the values people who earn the dirt under their fingernails reject. Hard-working Americans arent about to be convinced to vote for liberalism by a 5 minutes Will Ferrell video or a star-studded YouTube lecture on the importance of some progressive fever-dream. But they will inspire some leftists to the polls, which is where the real fight in November lies.
Not defending it but the omission of the flag-planting is strictly a business decision. They didn’t want to offend foreign - read Chinese - audiences. But going to the moon and back was a uniquely American endeavor. Sure we had German scientists - von Braun e.g. - and people of many former nationalities working on the project. But it was an American achievement. And no one else has even tried it much less accomplished it.
What is the magic secret to post more than 300 words??
Agreed. However you end up ticking off a large percentage of your customers. Sometimes being factual is best. People cannot argue with facts. Fact: America and Americans own the claim to the Moon landing. No one else.
A##wipes that would normally be in a mental facility are now going to tell us that America was never great. sh## be upon them.
Old hat for Hollywood.
In the 1930s Hollywood went out of their way to not say anything bad about Hitler, so that they wouldn’t lose access to the German market.

Then why cast a white guy? Cast a Chinese guy and make it blockbuster! Don’t stop there, let’s reshoot Selma with a Chinese guy as MLK. I don’t know how our flag on the moon will drive their boxoffice down. I mean are they too damn stupid to know what country pulled this off. I’m more pissed a f’ing Canadian was cast, then throws his liberal bs on why they didn’t use the American flag. If this is meaningless in telling the Armstrong movie, then why did he salute it?
I wonder if these people have any idea how much we hate them? Or resent the crap out of people who abuse the powerless while lording their 'morality' over the rest of us... Hollywood rapists, sluts and those who 'put out' to move up. Yeah, we're impressed...
What “overlords”? How many combat divisions has Hollywood? We Deplorables stay away from their lousy movies and they wither on the vine, that’s all.

In the olden days a scene might be re-shot several times, added to a film and released in a certain part of the USA. I’ve seen several on TV that had added scenes that were not in the theater release, and removed scenes that were in the theater release.
Among those with added or missing scenes were Disney’s DAVY CROCKETT, THE COMANCHEROS, THE PROFESSIONALS, GUNN, HEAVEN WITH A GUN, A PATCH OF BLUE, PATTON, BATTLE OF THE BULGE, FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE, and many more.
Cut the flag scene for the Chinese, add it for the rest of the world.

How would that offend Chinese audiences ?
I am sure the Chinese people know the Americans put a man on the moon. I am sure they know we planted an American Flag there as well.
The only people who don't seem to know we planted an American Flag on the moon are some of our politicians.
Dreadful. How did this guy pass 4th grade?
