The last-minute attempt to derail Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation as the next Supreme Court justice has just hit a serious snag.
Facing damaging but almost completely unsubstantiated claims that he acted improperly with a girl back when he was a teenager, the conservative nominee has dug into his personal archives to defend himself.
Up until now, the vague accusations made by Christine Blasey Ford had only resulted in a “he said, she said” stalemate. Liberals insisted that Blasey Ford’s story of a bad encounter at a drunken party be believed, while conservatives have pointed out that the nearly 40-year-old claim is impossible to verify.
Finally, Kavanaugh has presented tangible evidence that the accusation doesn’t hold up.

Maybe he should check his high school and college yearbooks to see if either one of these women signed them. Wouldn’t it be a pip if they had signed, and told him what a great guy he was, wishing him the best of luck, and saying how much fun it had been knowing him.
Kavanaugh knows well that it won’t matter. Attorneys are not interested in truth, in general. They want to prevail. These politicians are attorneys, and will do *anything* to prevail. They are scum, of course, but scum with an objective. To win at all costs.
He’ll have the diary entries for all the years.
This is the dogfight. This is where the left always can count on their soldiers and where our squishes screw us over. There’s going to be so much hand-wringing this week I’ll be shocked if we get to a vote.
I was thrilled at this possibility. However, WTF is this publicized now? Is it a leak or a deliberate strategy? I have no idea what the strategy would be.

IMO, they are pulling an Alinsky and planting memes in the minds of the ignorati and that was the plan, all along.
Poison the well, taint his position on SCOTUS, cast aspersion on him and his until the end of time.
I want to see her sworn in so she can be subject to perjury charges.
If it turns out her cat died anytime after ‘82, he’ll be blamed for that, too.

I think one old man said years ago the problem with politics is simple too many lawyers, look how they are in the courtroom and then look how they are in congress, they have a bigger ego than fighter pilots in the military.
