But the interview with just the four committee leaders and a court reporter may not stem the growing criticism of Rosenstein from Trump's closest Republican congressional allies, who have been demanding Rosenstein appear so they can grill the deputy attorney general.

On AirForce One, Rosenstein came clean to Trump, and Trump forgave him and offered him a deal:
Force Mueller to end his investigation and I will protect you for talking about taping me and attempting the 25th amendment ploy. After all, you didn’t know me then.
Viola! The Mueller investigation is finished.

So one day after the midterms, Mueller files his report, closes his investigation and everything is fine? Not so fast. I still want Rosenweasel fired.I share the sentiment. But for PDJT, this is bigger than retribution for one person.
If PDJT can turn Rosenstein, and convince him to end the Mueller investigation, it is good for the country.
Obviously, when all this becomes public, Rosenstein will have to resign.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein will speak to congressional leaders next week
behind closed doors to address reports that he discussed...
Pardon my sarcastic prognostication: Nothing, NOTHING, will come of this. "Behind closed doors" is politic-speak for, "we're gonna do it, but would rather not."
Think about it... when was the last time you heard important, opinion shaping news coming from a 'behind closed doors' meeting?
