The NC State College of Education has added a Doctorate of Philosophy in Teacher Education and Learning Sciences with an emphasis in Social Justice Education that will prepare scholars to serve and lead in championing educational success for all. Applications are now being accepted for this specialization area, which will enroll its first students in Fall 2019. The deadline to apply is Dec. 1, 2018.
“The goal of the program is to help educators recognize and disrupt systems of oppression by helping to foster and create equitable learning environments,” said Jessica DeCuir-Gunby, a professor of educational psychology and Director of Graduate Programs for the Teacher Education and Learning Sciences Department.
The Ph.D. in Social Justice Education Program will be housed in the Department of Teacher Education and Learning Sciences, and its core faculty will come from a variety of focus areas within the field of education, including educational psychology, literacy education, multicultural studies, social studies, English Language Arts education and special education. Their research focuses on social justice teacher education, multicultural education and literacy, education and immigration, and diversity and equity in schools and communities.
The 60-credit hour Ph.D. program addresses:
o Scholar activism
o Ethnic-racial identity development
o Equity in education and teacher education
o Ethics in human resource development
o Ethical/moral dimensions of school leadership
o Student motivation and achievement
o Culturally sensitive research approaches and methodologies

Not to worry. This will have no effect whatsoever on the excellent, free, local, public school you love.
Look at what most universities founded by religious organizations have become.

True Story:
I’m working at the Water Plant. Our Schedule goes like this. Shifts are from 7 to 7. 12 hour Day Shifts. You work 2 Shifts then get 3 Shifts Off. Then You work 3 Shifts the get 2 Shifts Off. That goes on for 1 Month.
SWAP TIME !
12 hour Night Shifts. You work 2 Shifts then get 3 Shifts Off. Then You work 3 Shifts the get 2 Shifts Off. That goes on for 1 Month. Then Everyone Swaps again.
I’ve just come Off of the 3 on Night Shift and I’m ready to go home unwind and SLEEP!!! Nehy Nehy Brown Cow. I’m told to go to Highly Rediculous for some stupid Class. I try to get out of it. Then I’m told I will be getting Overtime for it. So I go, only for the $$$ because that’s like $43.00 @ Hr.
I get there and the Class starts, it’s Titled: How to Form A Habit at Work. So as they babble away I’m thinking ?are We going to learn how to Drink/Smoke/do Drugs or What ? I already smoke Cigars and can’t Drink at Work. I don’t do Drugs. (Meanwhile up front it’s Blah-Blah-Blah, Cluck-Cluck- Cluck...)
Anyway, I go to paying attention to up front and the first thing I hear is “It takes 21 days to Form a Habit.” (...Blah-Blah-Blah, Cluck-Cluck- Cluck...)
Now in My Head I’m thinking well All of Us in the Water Plant are Screwed on this Habit thing. Next I’m trying to figure out how I can get a Nap in without getting caught.
Finally after 30+ minuets ...of Blah-Blah-Blah, Cluck-Cluck- Cluck... I heard them ask if anybody has any questions? Well being the Logical Type I raise My Hand and get called on.
I ask “Do Y’All look at Our Time Sheets ?”
She says “what are You talking about?”
So I explain in simple words how the Schedule is at the Water Plant.
I get a NASTY LOOK and get told they’re going to check it out.
I finish that Day in Class and go home to crash. The next 2 Days I get up and go to the Class. So much for sleeping. I go to Work, still on Nights and My Stupidvisor is still at the Water Plant which is odd. He walks up to Me and asks “What happened at hr ?” I’m like what do You mean ? He tells Me that I was giving the hr people Trouble. !!?!?! Huh What Where What are you talking about? He says they sent him an E-Mail that I was DISRUPTING Class and not Paying Attention. I’m still a bit lost when he says it was about Time Cards. So I explain what REALLY HAPPENED.
He hears Me out and then says OK, just don’t bring up facts like that in the Classes anymore.
I just stood there in disbelief...

Obviously no longer an educational facility. It should be shut down and the management locked up for observation. Either mentally deranged or deficient.
Across the board almost same same ......... my boss kept me out of these type of classes when I asked a “diversity” trainer why no white people taught diversity ? Its good to be so skilled in your work they hide you from such future “training”...... I even got a Malcomb Baldrige award based on collaborative assessment of such bullshit classes causing more damage than solutions to near non-existent events.
I was the best turd in the punchbowl I could be with such classes. The one silly class I really liked was memory techniques (mnemonics) ..... long strings of alphanumerics flashed on a screen for a second or three and we wrote them down , I did pretty well at the exercise, had fun as the instructor never could catch me cheating because I wasn’t. We did this for a WEEK !
