This has to be one of the coolest Halloween "Costumes" ever made. What a dad! WTG, Dad!
Dad is getting a real workout!

We’ve really come a long way from wheelbarrow rides in the backyard.

My Favorite:
Aliens power loader
The funny thing is, the "real" power loader in the movie was not that much more sophisticated than these costumes. The real one had a guy right behind Ripley, operating the arms and legs. James Cameron at that time was a genius at coming up with effects that looked realistic and expensive but was actually really simple and cheap.

Whoa - Dad will no longer be skipping leg day.

Hmm. Trying to guess which Mech? Based on the description and pics I would guess it would be a Rifleman 65 ton Mech. I could be wrong.
Yes, Im a MechWarrior fan.

As kids, my cousins and I sat inside truck tires and we rolled downhill. :)

Was the tire gyro stabilized by an Arudino control board?

It needs a beverage holder for dad.

In the video the guy calls it a “Stalker J1”, but that’s not a standard variant. I don’t know why a Stalker would need a machine gun...
