Major League Baseball is requesting a return of a $5,000 donation to a Mississippi Republican candidate for U.S. Senate following her controversial comments and actions ahead of Tuesday's runoff election.
Cindy Hyde-Smith has drawn scrutiny for saying at a Nov. 2 campaign event that she would attend a public hanging if invited. Further digging into Hyde-Smith's past has revealed a photo of her wearing a Confederate military-style hat in 2014 along with questions about the white private school she attended in the 1970s.

Why is baseball donating to any politician? For an antitrust exemption? Maybe it should be ended. Why not competition in baseball?
After she's sworn in, she needs to introduce a bill to A) outlaw public treasury support for arena/stadium construction, and B) outlaw athletic scholarships.
It'd be nice if the GOP at all levels held to that, wouldn't it? MLB gets a lot of perks at the local, state and federal level.

I would assume the rainbow warrior MLB only gives to a Republican so they could prance about as they bitched to get it back. They should just play ball and stay out of politics altogether.

Depending on who’s on the guest list to be stretched, I might go too. There’s more than a couple of people I’d like to see hanged. Not lynched; condemned by a legitimate court and hanged.
