Thanks for this. I’ve never heard of it.
I did some of my Christmas shopping there last year. Saved a fortune.
Wow. Now you don’t even have to take a foreign spouse back to the land of the big BX. She can do it online.
their on line form for verification of being a veteran doesn’t work
One more benefit of serving to retirement degraded. Now anyone who has served can have this benefit for life. And watch, states will use this “tax free” benefit of veterans to pressure DOD (or the non-veteran Congress) to do away with AAFES.
If it is anything like our Navy Exchange the cheapest items are shoe polish and shoe laces. $200 Vera Wang Wallets, even more expensive purses, Polo, Dockers, Baby car seats over $300. THINK MACY’s, or other high end price places. Only thing you save is Sales Tax. Unless you can find it on the Mark down racks with a scratch off card. Does not include booze of Cigs. A 24 pack of Milwaukee Best Light is about $14. Strong stuff like Jack is $30 or more. Even snacks are more expensive than Commissary.
Good deal. They deserve that and so much more.
Four years USAF, Honorable Discharge...the site doesn’t know me...screw’em.
I have avoided Ca sales tax for a year using this wonderful program on many purchases.
My most recent orders were perfume for my wife, and a new Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner.
First, I had significant savings due to a sale on each item, free delivery since my orders were over $45, and no sales tax, 7.75%.
My combined orders were about $400. So, I saved another $30 bucks without the sales tax.
Wow! Never heard of this.I will most assuredly be signing up.Of course at least a few states, and very possibly more than a few, will try to put a stop to this in the courts.
Wow, thanks for posting this! I had not heard about this new benefit for veterans before. Thanks to the Republican controlled House, Senate, and White House patriots for providing this starting on Veterans Day 2017. No thanks to the news media for keeping this great news buried
I created a new account with very little problem. I passed the simple eligibility test right away with just the last four of my SSN, my DOB, and last name. They obviously had the record of my 4 years of USAF service from 1976 to 1980.
I need to let my nephew USAF veteran know about this (in case he doesnt know already )
Does NOT apply to gas, booze, or smokes. O put the full tax on them. You just miss paying the local Sales tax.
Our Navy base is BUPERS and most products are high priced, even the Commissary. It has a 5% restock fee. I usually shop Krogers for 90% of groceries as they give gas points up. I bought gift cards for Christmas as our family is very scattered. We had enough gas points to give the 2 boys $2.00 off gas per 35 gals as both of them drive a lot for work. And we still have the same amount for us to use.
