And the hits just keep on coming from the Trump administration. Yesterday, the White House released the end results of its School Safety Commission findings. As
The Commission endorses Extreme Risk Protection Order laws, which give authorities a temporary way to keep those who threaten society from possessing or purchasing firearms.
Back in March, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach (R) had this to say about so-called red flag laws . . .
Anti-gun interest groups and politicians have used the Parkland shooting to launch what, until recently, they regarded as a distant dream a wave of state legislation authorizing the confiscation of firearms.
It appears that the head of the Republican Party, President Trump, is now on board with red flag laws. A number of states have now enacted the legislation that strips the law abiding of their due process rights until after their guns have been grabbed.
A rash of bills have been introduced in various state legislatures such as Oregons SB 719, Floridas SB 7026, Vermonts S 221, and Road Islands H7688. They all have passed to thunderous applause and more like them are apparently on their way and the Presidents apparent approval will only speed the process.
The 2016 election result had so much hope for the law-abiding gun owning public. President Trump formed a Second Amendment Coalition, ostensibly to help guide his firearms policy decision-making. TTAGs John Boch was named as a member. He even told the American public that the eight year assault on the Second Amendment was over.
But the Second Amendment support has fallen through and the assault continues, gaining ground due to his conspicuous bipartisan cooperation with enemies of civilian gun rights like like Dianne Feinstein.
Same as it ever was.
It appears that the head of the Republican Party, President Trump, is now on board with red flag laws.

Another unforced error.
It's the Real Donald Trump revealing his true colors.
He is toast for 2nd term if he supports this!
THE REBELLION CLAUSE of AMENDMENT XIV:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
United States Constitution, Amendment XIV, SECTION 3.
The members of the Florida Legislature who approved the recent gun bill and the Governor of Florida could legally be barred from public office for infringing Amendment II.
Any infringement of the right of the People to bear arms legally means disbarment from domestic government office (and probably the pensions too).
Any judge that refuses disbarment becomes in rebellion against Amendment II and the Constitution.
Will the leftist Supreme Court justices refuse to remove a rebel from office and become themselves subject to removal by a 5 to 4 court, giving Trump the power to make it a 9 to 0 Supreme Court?
Absolutely not.
I suggest the Congress have a vote on removing the disability of the Florida rebels.
Will Congressional Democrats like Pelosi reinstate the Florida rebels?
Best to find out now.
And make sure no Republican elector is a rebel too!
The Democrats will stop at nothing to regain the Presidency, including tossing out the votes of rebel electors.
Isn’t there an online place for these fidiots to make out their wills?
Guaranteed.
So what then? It'll be 1992 all over again.
tromper

I think *you’re* conflating some commission and *its* findings with what DJT thinks, and what he will do.
Other than that, I hear crybabys ...
worse
Bill Clinton was fairly sane, except when his second head got excited.
"...Itll be 1992 all over again..."
True.
The ‘rats won’t nominate a Bill Clinton type. Even Hillary won’t be radical enough for them, this time. Not sure who it will be (Occasional-Cortex is too young), but it will be a hard-core Marxist like her.
“It appears that the head of the Republican Party, President Trump, is now on board with red flag laws.”
Why bother voting Republican?
"...encoraging..."
Of course “communist” was bad enough.
Place adjectives like ‘incompetent’, ‘unrealistic’ and ‘racist’ in front of that noun in 2020.
Well, that sounds familiar.
Add ‘incredibly’ in front of those adjectives.
I had a brother-in-law that committed suicide, he was my wife's brother. My father-in-law had multiple heart attacks before he died. He also got into a depression period after one of his heart attacks where he talked about suicide with a handgun in his den.
With my wife's permission, I took her father's handgun and and rifle and stored them in my gun safe. Yes, I could have possibly been charged with theft, but I was willing to take my chances in front of a jury. I would have rather gone to trial, than dealt with my wife following two suicides in her family.
Having said that, I think that the current firearm confiscation laws pretending to address people with mental health issues are a joke.
Likewise, I believe that people are trying to create “knee jerk” and emotional reactions to the real issue of how do we as a society provide people with due process and rights, when they have a mental health issue that makes them a danger to themselves and others.
Are the current laws and laws being proposed a proper balance? Nope, but is there a need to address mental health conditions where people are a danger to themselves and others? YES!
I can only conclude this is correct.
We’ve been had.
“He is toast for 2nd term if he supports this!”
Supports it? LOL. It was his idea.
And a UNITED States of America will start CWII because We have become so Divided.
"...Are the current laws and the laws being proposed a proper balance?..."
