NATO trashing Trump repeatedly pushed to pull out of anti-Russia alliance: report
The Washington Slimes (Now part of MSMFake News) ^ | January 15, 2019 | Gabriella Muñoz, Trump Concern Desk

President Trump floated the idea of withdrawing the U.S. from NATO among his officials several times last year, The New York Times reported late Monday night.

Unnamed officials, both current and former, told The Times that Mr. Trump said he didn’t see the point of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and viewed it as a drain on U.S. resources. The complaint came around the time of the last NATO summit in July 2018.

The president was very vocal in the days leading up to — and during — the summit about his criticism on NATO burden sharing. He repeatedly called for NATO allies to contribute more funds and accused them of taking advantage of the U.S.

I’m with Trump; NATO is obsolete. We can coordinate with them, but they should pay the full costs of defending their continent against Russia. Our children are $20T in debt from wasteful government spending. It’s time to cut anything that is not essential.

I support President Trump.

Why should the US continue to support NATO which is mostly populated by EU members?

I say this because the EU leadership has made it no secret that they hate the USA and see the USA as a potential adversary and not an ally.

NATO’s time has passed. (So has the UN’s!!)

Time for the USA to quit.

...what???
What’s the commonality?
UN and EU have the common thread of the US antithetical marxist-muslim alliance.
They are the current enemies.

Here’s a read of NATO’s greatest “success” according to NATO. You know, all for the people. https://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/31/opinion/31iht-eddaalder31.html

We can’t pay the dental and medical bills of 30 million Mexicans, Salvadorans, Guatemalans, Nicaraguans and Hondurans who illegally enter our country, while also paying for the defense of eastern Europe. Something has to give, and I know the Democrats would love to bankrupt America, and then blame it on the rich and the capitalist system. But it all has to stop. Why are we borrowing trillions from the Chinese to give it away to all these skells? So the Democrat Party can get new voters?

Let the Yurps pay for their own defense for a change. We can strike mutual defense pacts with the few real allies we have. As for the rest - ie the Germans - eff ‘em.

Neither the Soviet Union nor the Warsaw Pact still exist. Scrap NATO and re-evaluate our Atlantic alliances.

Too many of our so called allies rip us off and repeatedly stab us in the back. Leave them to their just rewards.

Additionally, The European nations have already surrendered to the moslems. Do we want our technology in the hands of people who are commanded to kill us?

Why would Euros pay more if they don’t have to?

To be effective, a threat must be credible.

“The complaint came around the time of the last NATO summit in July 2018.”

well, duh. This is how one positions oneself for hard tacks negotiation. I’m sure the MSM floozies have done it a time or two in divorce court themselves. His embarrassing of NATO members for being freeloaders got them to open their pocketbooks and actually think about helping to defend themselves instead of expecting (another) government to kiss their owie and go beat up the bully that pushed them down. Which was the objective.

And, forgot to add, it was also a time that Trump bagged on Merkel publically for working that sweet little oil deal with Russia on the side, while crying America wasn’t doing enough to sanction Russia.
