If 58% of Americans really don’t approve of building a wall to protect our country from illegal aliens this country is done.
When you have as prominent a Dem as Cher shouting to fund the Wall, it is ridiculous to pretend that Dem support is nearly nothing. I read a comment on my former home in California’s community website that said Trump should negotiate by offering to help the Dreamers. I’m thinking ‘these people are not getting full news, must be watching the Lamestream Media’. I suspect it is a majority of Dems that want some sort of barrier, but the ‘news’ would NEVER report that.
It seems they are on a mission to spawn one liberal news website after another to create a liberal echo chamber.

The Democrats set this trap.
They not been able to separate President Trump from his base (and if they can not separate him from the base they cannot impeach nor will they be able to beat him in the next election).
So they set it up to be a “read my lips” situation to force the President to go back on one of his major campaign promises. Border security and a wall.
This has always worked for them in the past. But it is not working now. The reason, President Trump owed no one but the American people that voted for him anything.
Not the GOP
Not Big business
Not the media
They have no leverage over him.
And contrary to the opinion of this article, the shutdown will not go on forever. Pressure is building but it is the Democrats that will cave first and they are the ones that will pay the political price.
The joy comes from knowing they did it to themselves.

Lobbyists for programs not germane to the wall will eventually tell Democrats to reopen the government.

This definitely is the hill on which to die. We’ve come this far and can’t retreat now. Absolutely cannot! I can’t believe the resolve of PDJT, and his superhuman strength, but chalk it up to God’s help.
The polls used to show it the other way. They just dialed the polls to fit their agenda.

The question was framed in a way that would elicit a high number opposing the wall. When you change the question to border security, the number is flipped.
Of course the shutdown will end.
58% of people without a day job who have land lines....that is who they talk to...

Trump should adjourn Congress until after the next election.

Nah! Let them rant and rave on tv and pass stupid bills in the house to be voted against in the Senate or vetoed by President Trump.
This will cost them, the elections in 2020 as they turn off the real independent voters everyday.
Also, we the Deploreables will become even more Deploreable and backing President Trump even more in 2020.
If a country can't control its borders and decide who comes in and who doesn't, it will soon cease to be a country.
After being embarrassed by the pregnant silence of their usual lying pollsters, the Dems must have ordered them to get back to work producing their lies, damned lies and statistics.
I won’t be surprised if we find out later, that they had to sink to new depths of blatant fraud to produce favorable numbers on this.
Bret Bair couldn’t gather up a decent question and answer of this dude Steny Hoyer? The guy is kicking as stammering and lying.
I was squirming, thinking why doesn’t Bair simply ask him, “Why don’t you just give in a little and get the wall built? If it doesn’t work, where they put it up, then you don’t provided anymore funding.”
Their reasoning is ridiculous. The man is president, and he wants the wall in various parts of the border.
I would say 90% of Americans, esp Latino citizen, are in favor of strong border security. The president wants funding that includes building a fixed barrier in various places. THe money is really small in comparison to the rest of the budget.
Why don’t they give him what he wants?
