If he declares a national emergency, he should demand that subsequent CR’s be short so that when the inevitable Hawaiian judge injunction comes, the shutdown can resume.

Sanders was just on saying ‘president will continue fighting’ which almost sounded like he’s folding. Hope that is not what is occurring. How can this be state of emergency when it is ongoing, not new? Odd timing if a compromise? Like others in thread, why wait?
He'll declare a national emergency on the wall and fight it through the courts. This will reopen government, and take away any excuse to not have his SOTU in the House chambers.
