After President Donald Trump announced his proposed immigration deal that would offer DACA protections to Democrats in exchange for wall funding, right-wing pundit Ann Coulter ripped the deal and said it would make a wall useless.
There are a million things to trade for a wall: A higher federal minimum wage, an infrastructure bill, a solar panel bill,” Coulter tweeted. “Trade a wall for AMNESTY, and there’s no purpose to having a wall.”
"We voted for Trump and got Jeb!” she wrote on Twitter.

Ann missed the calculus...Seriously, they actually didn’t listen and per their plan, no matter how demented Pelozi’s statement was well-written, and it wouldn’t have mattered what PDJT said. They have placed their best, and I believe they have underestimated PDJT to their demise.
I believe that Trump knew that Pelosi would reject it, and thus there was never any risk of doing DACA or BRIDGE.

Ann is right in the sense that a DACA/amnesty deal is a very bad idea and does indeed undermine the very purpose of the wall. On the other hand, it’s a moot point because the Democrats are dug in and have drawn a line in the sand over the issue of the wall. They’ve apparently come to the conclusion that the wall was the signature winning issue of Trump 2016 and that the key to defeating him in 2020 is to deny him success on this one issue. Trump could offer Nancy & Chuck amnesty to every freakin’ illegal in the country in exchange for the wall and they likely wouldn’t take it. At this point, it’s not really about the wall itself.

Trust Trump, he fools them at every turn, and he’s so far ahead they don’t even know which way to look. Just let this play out.

She speaks well on the topic, glad she is. Trump needs to hear us scream, NO AMNESTY. Giving government benefits, work permits, and permits to stay in the US is AMNESTY. And to do so for partial funding and nothing else (no e-Verify, no end of catch-and-release, etc.) is sell out. Trump needs to stop listening to Ivanka and review his promises. Let the government stay closed, even if only partially.
