Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has privately cautioned President Donald Trump not to declare a national emergency to build his southern border wall, The Washington Post reported Friday. He warned Trump that such a declaration might split the GOP and that Congress could pass a resolution opposing it, two Republican sources familiar with the conversation told the newspaper. In such a situation Trump might be forced into the first veto of his presidency — against his own party, McConnell pointed out, according to the sources...Some GOP legislators have already spoken out against an emergency declaration — and against another government shutdown. GOP Florida Sen. Marco Rubio said that an emergency declaration was a “terrible idea” and that he would oppose it. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) said last month that to “give the president authority basically to do that all by himself would, I think, stretch constitutional boundaries.”

He [MC Connell] may have or he may have not. I do not believe or trust anything that comes from the media until otherwise verified. If he did, so what? If he did not. Same response. What President Trump needs to do is chop the tree down[Declare the State of Emergency]. And let the chips fall where they may. Should they [Democrats and Republicans] impeach him, again, so what? If We, The People allow it without taking action of our own, well we deserve what we get. As far as the future goes, we , actually they have crossed the Rubicon. They have cast the die. We already know their plans for us.

Has anyone looked at the number of nonsensical “emergencies” declared by Obama, Bush, Clinton, et al. Some of them, no matter how stupid, are still in effect.

We were promised border security by Congress in 1986.
All we got was the amnesty.
Then we were promised border security again in 2006 with the Secure Fence Act.
After we killed their next amnesty, they defunded the Secure Fence.
BOTH parties have been pursuing a policy of non-enforcement for 30 years that has resulted in 30 million illegal aliens.
We will never get border security from Bush League Republicans.
Bush League Republicans MUST become extinct before the Republic does.

How is it a “threat” that Congress might do the job it is appointed to do? Because McConnell says Congress “might” undo the President’s emergency order, he is supposed to cower? I don’t believe this is a threat, if McConnell actually said this, I believe he is begging Trump not to act alone so they don’t have to put lying Republicans on the record voting against border security.
The GOP was pushed into a corner and had no choice but to reveal their true colors, and it’s not red, or purple, just a nauseating shade of blue.
The Donald wanted to do just that..... Let his supporters know that its the RINO / Dem Lite party that needs to be purged also.....
This just shows how merely mouthed Ryan was and McConnell is when it comes to us.
Sure they will back SC appointments as that doesn’t really hit them in their donor base / insider deals for themselves or families with a little “ wet my beak” thrown in.

The President is herding cats, all of them. He is putting them in cages on display for all to see. He seeks out his opposition, corners them, and locks them in boxes of their own contrivance.
Prior to 2016 we had 2 great presidents, Washington and Lincoln. Trump is the third.
I am going to work my darndest to defeat Marco Rubio in his next election. SSick and tired of the scumbag!!!
That’s not a warning, that’s a threat! And if observing the illegals and cartels crossing the borders at the rates they are, violating territorial sanctity and safety, killing American citizens is not an emergency, then we are truly the middle east and people like McConnell and his cronies are a major part of the reason.
Let’s face it, displaying the reality of the problem to the public is the way to get it done. If the libs can’t get voting support because they are being identified as trying to promote the killing of US citizens and drug saturation from the south, they will have to back down. Just tell the truth!!!

I don’t remember the word “reportedly” being involved in the headline the first time this story came out. “Reportedly” is the “media’s” way of say, “This is probably bull****.”
