Bloomberg to Spend $500 Million to Defeat Trump in 2020
National Review ^ | 02/13/2019 | Jack Crowe

Michael Bloomberg has allocated $500 million to deny President Trump a second term in 2020, either by running himself or by providing funding and data to the eventual Democratic nominee, according to Politico.

Should Bloomberg decide to run — a decision he plans to make in the coming weeks — he believes the $500 million war chest would finance his campaign through the primaries, at which point he plans to invest more of his personal fortune should he win the nomination.

“That’ll get us through the first few months,” Bloomberg’s top adviser Kevin Sheekey told Politico.

“Mike spent $100 million in his last New York City election. And you can do the math as you think more broadly but New York City is 3 percent of the national population,” Sheekey said. “I’m not suggesting it’s straight math. But I’m suggesting that when Mike Bloomberg is committed to making a difference and seeing something though, generally speaking he’s pretty unabashed in doing so.”

In the event that he chooses not to run, he intends to continue building out extensive voter profiles and collecting other data that he believes will prove essential to the Democratic nominee.

The former New York City mayor has already developed a core staff that meets once-a-week to determine the viability of his own personal run, which has already faced staunch opposition from other Democratic contenders critical of the idea of self-funding a presidential campaign.

Good. Trump wins and Bloomberg loses half a billion.

Is he going to buy the office of President?

Everybody who can, tries.

Look at it this way: Most of the rest of our government appears to be for sale or rent.

And what else is left for Bloomberg, in his late 70's, to buy? He needs a big ticket item!

🔫😳. He'd have better results further infringing on our 2nd amendment with his $500 million. But don't tell him that.

Once a week? Sounds like he's trying to mail it in without committing to a real effort - a LOSING strategy from the start. LOL

If the idea is to get Trump out of office at any price, perhaps he can ‘contribute’ $5 billion dollars or so to get Trump to not try so hard to win in 2020. Bribe? Shut yo’ mouth! It’s just a trade.

He could use the money to provide that guaranteed basic income that AOC talks about.

Anything negative comes out about him: Republican Mayor of NYC Mike Bloomberg

Anything positive comes out: Democrat Candidate Mike Bloomberg

The positive and negative are from a liberal perspective of course.

He’s welcome to throw his money away. He can ask Tom Streyer how that works out.

Hahahahaha. This guy is about as likeable as going to an all night dentist.

No one has any affection for him, so no one will go to his rallies.

The primaries will be brutal for someone his age, and the young people will want to go where the action is, ie the younger candidates.

In short, he’s another “rich white guy” who has nothing new to show.

What did Hillary and the combined efforts of 17 + candidates pay to beat Trump in 2016? 1 billion?

He came down the escalator and never looked back.

Did anyone see the rally on Monday? Those people were screaming like Whos from Whosville for Horton.

Look at the 2016 voting map!

Bloomberg means to impose the will of the population centers of the East and West Coasts on the remaining population of the United States, leaving that vast remaining number of American citizens to the will of tyrants who call themselves Progressive Democrats.

“And you can do the math as you think more broadly but New York City is 3 percent of the national population,” Sheekey said.

Hmmm. Okay, so he wins New York and maybe California...and perhaps he and a third party guy might pull in more votes than Trump, who will carry 48 states.

So, what’s this genius’ point?
