The LT should be pardoned. Whoever set the ROE back then for those types of situations should be swinging from the old oak tree.
I am astonished that the Trump administration hasn’t acted before this to pardon these guys. It’s a crying shame. I’ve sent another letter to WhiteHouse.gov asking that they look into this situation. I hope other FReepers do as well.
There were very good reasons for the founders to want the President to be somebody who was naturally an American because they could not possibly be anything else.
Obama was born something else.
He was never eligible.
Never having served in,or near,combat I can’t speak with any authority on matters like this.But assuming that the Lieutenant does,in fact,deserve a pardon the sad reality is that it won’t come before November of next year.
I bet there’s a gate-keeper or two that don’t let some things make it to Trump. You’d think with all the retired generals hanging around, one of them would have put the bug in his ear. Oh wait...maybe GWB or Oh Bung Hole dictated the ROE.

Ditto here. I do all I can to discourage young people I know from joining the military. What passes for “leadership” will shiv you at first chance to curry political favor. Lorance and his men faced a split-second, kill-or-be-killed situation and were hung out to dry.

There is a fund to help pardon these guys. I have sent them money but off hand don’t remember their name. They are making progress but still need funding.
Carlson, Hannity, Ingraham need to take up this cause. Get this to Trump.
I'm glad someone has said it. US soldiers serve honorably, but fighting for the Saudis, Bush, Obama and Clinton in never-ending wars in Muslim countries seems like a thankless gesture.
