Not good and on the surface seems unlikely that these bills can be stopped. Democrats control both the House and the Senate, plus we have a Democrat Governor. Undoing preemption and allowing local-set lows and gun-free zones is a disaster for our second amendment rights and put us all at risk of finding ourselves violating the law or being disarmed and defenseless.

Leftists are so disturbed that they demand to control you and if they can not control you, they will disarm you so criminals can eliminate you from opposing their demand for complete control.

Well I have to believe Nevada counties like Douglas and Churchill, will not comply.
Maybe in Clark and Washoe, but not elsewhere.

[[the legislature would cede authority to the counties to pass stricter gun control laws without limitation.]]

The constitution did not state that we are free to bear arms ONLY IF local counties allow us to!

I thought Heller pretty much killed this ?

Of course with the current make up of the legislative body, they and sissypants can pretty much get anything they want.

It would be awsome if most counties declared they are sanctuary counties for gun owners- and abolish many of the draconian laws already on the books-

That’s a real shame. Nevada was one of the most liberty-minded state in the Union.

“To disarm the people...[i]s the most effectual way to enslave them.”
- George Mason, referencing advice given to the British Parliament by Pennsylvania governor Sir William Keith, The Debates in the Several State Conventions on the Adooption of the Federal Constitution, June 14, 1788

“This may be considered as the true palladium of liberty.... The right of self defense is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any color or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction.”
- St. George Tucker, Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England, 1803

“They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”
- Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759

“The Constitution shall never be construed to prevent the people of the United States who are peaceable citizens from keeping their own arms.”
- Samuel Adams, Massachusetts Ratifying Convention, 1788

“No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms.”
- Thomas Jefferson, Virginia Constitution, Draft 1, 1776

“What country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance. Let them take arms.”
- Thomas Jefferson, letter to James Madison, December 20, 1787

“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”
- Thomas Jefferson, Commonplace Book (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria), 1774-1776

“The Constitution of most of our states (and of the United States) assert that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed.”
- Thomas Jefferson, letter to to John Cartwright, 5 June 1824

Not good and on the surface seems unlikely that these bills can be stopped.

If so, that will be a very sad day for Nevada:

"Every citizen has the right to keep and bear arms for security and defense, for lawful hunting and recreational use and for other lawful purposes." Nevada Const. art. I, § 11(1).

What's the point of this? Almost no one will obey it, and no one will ever be arrested for it. The police aren't going to be checking up on you at night to make sure that your guns are "properly stored."

This has occurred because liberals and Leftists are just like a plague of locusts: once they finish stripping and ruining one area, they move to the next and repeat the process. They’ve utterly ruined NJ, after having destroyed their hatching ground in NYC. Now they’ve done the same in NV, after having destroyed their hatching ground in California. Ditto for IN being ruined by ex-Shitcagoites.

Here’s a hint to the imbeciles: If you are leaving your home because the politicians that you elected made it a living Hell, then when you get to a new place DON’T VOTE THE SAME WAY!

There goes any vacation/travel plans to or through the state of Nevada. I will save my hard earned dollars for use in the few remaining free states of America!

Great memories from a state with an historic and colorful past, suicide is painless. Claim your state back or simply evacuate. Good luck!

Well in Nye County our Sheriff already said they will not comply with these new rules AND then an avalanche of other sheriffs said the same thing. Our county commission also passed a resolution against this as well. So far this is looking like a Las Vegas (Clark County) and Reno are the only places that plan to enforce any of these laws. This is Nevada, and rural Nevada will not tolerate it. At least here in Pahrump on any given day you can walk into Walmart and see many people open carrying. They are risking some serious unrest in this state if they push it too far. Already there is a New Nevada movement looking to break us away from Clark County

I live in the desert. Things have gotten in my house from time to time, nothing dangerous so far, but there are snakes. The idea of having nothing to protect myself or my pets is quite disturbing!

To: Reno89519; All
Thank you for referencing that article Reno89519. Please note that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

From related threads …

Patriots are reminded that when the states ratified the 14th Amendment (14A), they gave Congress the specific power to make peacetime punitive civil laws to discourage state actors from abridging constitutionally enumerated protections.

From the 14th Amendment:

In fact, since we're talking about gun rights, the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of 14A, had included the 2nd Amendment (2A) when he read the Bill of Rights as examples of protections that 14A applies to the states.

John Bingham, Congressional Globe. (See 2nd Amendment (Article II) about in middle of 2nd column.)

The Supreme Court later reflect on Bingham’s clarification by emphasizing that 14A gave Congress the specific power to strengthen constitutionally enumerated protections from abuse by state actors.

“3. The right of suffrage was not necessarily one of the privileges or immunities of citizenship before the adoption of the Fourteenth Amendment, and that amendment does not add to these privileges and immunities. It simply furnishes additional guaranty for the protection of such as the citizen already had [emphasis added].” —Minor v. Happersett, 1874.

H O W E V E R …

Regardless that PDJT is fighting valiantly for us patriots, making America great again despite Congress, we’re still being oppressed by a corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification Congress that has a track record for not lifting a finger to protect citizens’ enumerated rights from abuse by renegade states, particularly where 1st Amendment freedoms of religious expression and speech are concerned.

The remedy for worthless Democratic and RINO-controlled Congress left over from lawless Obama Administration …

Patriots need to elect new patriot lawmakers in 2020 elections that will not only promise to support PDJT’s vision for MAGA, but will also promise to do its duty to exercise its 14A powers to make punitive laws to discourage the states from abridging constitutionally enumerated rights, 2A protections in this example.

Remember in November 2020!

MAGA!
