THE BRONX, NY The city councilman who recently drew fire for his inflammatory remarks about gay people says he will run for Congress to give conservatives and moderates a voice in Washington.
Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr. said he will run to replace U.S. Rep. Jose Serrano, who is not seeking re-election in 2020. The Bronx Democrat who drew widespread criticism for saying the "homosexual community" controls most Council members filed a form Wednesday establishing a federal campaign committee. He said he will formally announce his candidacy on Saturday.

Diaz is to the right of most Republican Senators!
Diaz is a economically liberal, socially conservative.
A Republican can’t win in the Bronx-—Democratic primaries are ideologically diverse.
Ping.
send this dude some cash
I think I will.
This dude is no-nonsense.
Diaz is more conservative than Mitch McConnell. Think about it.
A man from the city is more conservative than the Senate GOP Leader.
Just sent him an email expressing my support.
In NY conservative Democrats are called Republicans
NYS is going broke and can’t afford either.
OK... Does that mean he derives from the first ("white") revolution or the second ("red" / Bolshevik) 6-months later?
Sort of like choosing between a pile of horse manure or cat crap... Either one is putrid and stinks...
“” “” Diaz is a economically liberal, socially conservative.”” “”
The same could have been said about Soviet communists.
True.
Republicans can win only in Staten Island.
He’ll still vote lock step with the other dems, no matter how insane the idiocy the dems are putting forward.
It ain’t the candidate, it’s the party, with them.
If he wasn’t known to be politically reliable, he wouldn’t have a penny in his campaign chest.
He doesn't even have a campaign websiite -- that's assuming Google isn't blocking the search results.
lol-sad isn’t it?
The district is purple, leaning pretty red. It's currently represented by Democrat Max Rose, who defeated Republicn-Conservative Rep. Dan Donovan after Donovan and his predecessor, Michael Grimm, ate each other in the primary.
Currently, the Republican and Conservative Parties have lined up behind Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, who was the candidate against Comrade DeBloodio two years ago.
BTW, the state Conservative Party chairman is someone I served with on the New York YAF State Board a number of years ago.

That’s true and false at the same time. Soviet society had a term which might be loosely translated as a ‘moral background’. Abortion was freely available, true but if one had it it went to the files. If a person had an abortion at high school she would never advance above o3 in the military being deemed ‘morally unfit’ for higher rank.
The same was true in civilian life with many higher positions demanded higher rank in a party nomenclature which took ‘moral background’ serious. It was impossible for a divorced man to become a CEO of a larger enterprise or a district attorney. They would be rejected as morally unfit based on the same principle.
It was a sort of social conservatism. For religious matters you are right. A history of religious affiliation on file was considered amoral and disqualifying too.
