The economy added a healthy 263,000 jobs in April, firmly beating analyst expectations of 190,000, according to Friday’s monthly snapshot from the Department of Labor.
The nation's unemployment level fell to 3.6 percent, the lowest since 1969, and average hourly earnings grew by 0.2 percent, for an annual gain of 3.2 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Anyone know if this is an apples - to - apples comparison of the numbers?
What I mean is that I know they’ve changed the method for calculating multiple times and I’m not sure when they do a change they go back and recalculate the old numbers using the same method.
So what in ‘69 was a certain number would be a different number if calculated today. My guess is that if we used the same numbers as previously that we are actually better then ‘69.

We’re pumping in upwards of a million new, low-skill illegals a year now. So we get the twin dynamic of employment rising without wages doing so to match. (Which perversely the Fed tries to shut off with higher interest rates anyway, with the excuse of the higher wages being “inflationary”, when really they are part of the dynamic of higher productivity, if companies are making worthwhile tech/capital investments.)
