There is a Tyson plant in Lexington Nebraska. I can guarantee a Tyson plant will change Provo and not for the better.
I refuse to buy Tyson foods. Their history of trafficking in illegals goes back a long way. How they are still in business is a wonder to me.
Getting one of their plants is a disaster for any community.
Utah is already swimming in illegals. It is so bad now that we sold our property and are unlikely to ever return....
They arent going anywhere. Might as well have them work and pay taxes.
My grandparents former home is in Provo. They are long gone, but thanks to the Mormon Church, the last time I drove by the place, I was able to find out that rather than two living units, it has been “demised” to house FIVE Mexican families. The Mormon Church is the second biggest church in Mexico and they are “all in” bringing “newly minted Saints” into the US from Mexico. So Tyson need not worry about cheap labor in Provo, it’s already there waiting.
I have never bought Tyson foods and I will never buy Tyson foods in any way, shape or form.
Ughh....chicken processing plants.. Out here in Decatur, Alabama its pretty much known as THE place that one can get a job while having a criminal record.
I see the rigs hauling the cage-trailers that must carry 1000 chickens or more maybe. Poor creatures.... seen em rolling down the highway when its 9deg F on a February early morning.
There’s lots of people here from central america (honduras, san/el-salvador etc). I dont know if they are illegal of relocated here by some US program.
So this means that Spanish Fork and Payson will turn into Mexico.
In 1980 there were none. But soon they will be the majority.
Guess Mittens is thrilled to know that the plantation slaves will soon be his to control.
“...800-1200 new jobs.”
Somalis, probably.
This is what Utah Morons voted for when they elected Romney.
Tyson Fresh Meats Eyes $300 Million Production Plant in Salt Lake City, Utah
Utah's pols are fixing to screw taxpayers with the taxpayers' money.
Just tell Tyson, Pork only products!
There will need to be a Border Patrol office right on the grounds.
Virtually every comment was negative. I must have just woke up.
Since when was 800-1200 new jobs a bad thing?
They will only hire Somali’s? Huh? We have that many Somali’s in every location that Tyson builds a plant?
Maybe it’s work most Americans won’t do?
I know that Somali’s make and eat “dirt cookies”. Do they taste like chicken?
Hey, I LIKE chicken! Buffalo Wild Wings, Kickin’ Jalapeno sauce is THE best!
KFC original recipe one of my favorite fast foods. Cornell chicken barbecues, um umh! Chicken breasts are the best! (I’m a breast man anyway)
I like Campbell’s Chicken Noodle Soup. The wife just cooked chicken for dinner just last night!
If only we had a Chick-fil-A! Maybe some day.
Since beef has become so expensive, we eat more chicken.
I don’t want to watch the sausage being made or work in a plant where they make sausage, I LIKE sausage!
I never heard of nor understand the Somali/Tyson symbiosis, but 800-1200 jobs can’t be a bad thing.
A plant near here hired in Somalis. Almost immediately they started causing trouble.
Things have quieted down now, but the town, which used to be a great vacation spot is now dying. Noel, Mo.
Well here’s a suggestion: Spread word of Tyson’s cheap labor practices, and their hiring of foreigners, and appeal to friends and relatives to stop buying Tyson products. A successful boycott should get their attention pretty quick.
Does anyone have information on the Perdue Corporation headquartered in Salisbury, MD? I’ve heard the eastern shore counties are now crawling with illegal aliens employed by that company.
I wonder if the Tyler Chicken hen supervisor from Little Rock will be seeking a new job in Utah?
