The U.S. Air Force has deployed at least 20 missiles that could zap the military electronics of North Korea or Iran with high-power microwaves, rendering their military capabilities virtually useless without causing any fatalities, DailyMail.com has learned exclusively.
Known as the Counter-Electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP), the missiles were built by Boeing's Phantom Works for the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and tested successfully in 2012. They have not been operational until now.
The microwave weapons are fitted into an air-launched cruise missile and delivered from B-52 bombers. With a range of 700 miles, they can fly into enemy airspace at low altitude and emit sharp pulses of high power microwave (HPM) energy that fry computer chips, disabling any electronic devices targeted by the missiles with causing any collateral damage.
Mary Lou Robinson, the chief of the High Power Microwave Division of the Air Force Research Lab at Kirtland Air Force Base, has confirmed to DailyMail.com that the missiles are now operational and ready to take out any target.

It helps, a lot, to read the column.
The USG cannot harden everything everywhere. However, the USG as far back as 2002-2003 took measures to ensure a handful of USG Military Branches and Agencies built EMP data centers to house all the financial, USG and Library of Congress data, essentially all the world’s historical archives and backups in real time of the banking data. If we were hit, they would have to take out a dozen alone under the military branches.
Works something like a hardened underground facility that has a blanket akin to a chain link fence that is electrically charged which is supposed to defuse the pulse.... At least that is the unclassified version of the technology.
Additionally the USG was to manufacture and stockpile massive amounts of electronic component parts here in the US to give us a capability to re-start our infrastructure and get the cars and computers commercially running.
The next war with China will not involve anything more than cutting their com’s links blinding them and the destruction of all their electronics production facilities and key infrastructure like dams, power production and roadways to literally make it impossible for the ChiCom Government to communicate and coordinate their war after they launch a first strike. The next part is to activate 19 regional opposition governments which we will immediately recognize. Stand down or die communications to field commanders will be issued and they as they are blinded surrender or face a stage by stage tightening noose that destroys government and military (it is the same in ChiCom land).
Hopefully, the Chicoms bond cities in their first strike so as to prevent the Rats from destroying our cornfields.... Ain’t war a bitch, nobody bombs cornfields or the country but they damn sure destroy cities.
No US Citizen who survives a Chinese first strike or an EMP from a rouge nation need worry about their financial data - for what it’s worth.
FRY, BABY, FRY. And if you light-up the Ayatollah’s beard, do that too. BURN, BABY, BURN
The Norks are out at night anyway; so what would they notice?
These were featured in Popular Science a long time ago. Truly.
I agree and vaguely remember. The difference would have been the whole contraption would have been semi-truck-trailer mounted and probably good for only one shot before rebuild. It is micro-miniaturization and power consumption reduction that makes the difference now.
They are being readied again. Funny says permanent.
Strength Through Deterrence. Peace through Strength. Rocketman and the Ayatolla must realize that their weapons are now obsolete. I bet they cried. But the bright side for them is, if they play nicely with others, they won’t have to spend the next few years wondering what other toys are in our toychest.
Yes, no doubt from China and Russia. Vintage 1990s stuff but still operational.
Its so nice to tell the world what kind of new secret weapons you have so that they know what kind of countermeasures to come up with.
That said, I am quite sure Russia and China have the like.
