Gillibrand: Georgia's Heartbeat Abortion Law Is 'Against Christian Faith'
PJ Media ^ | May 20, 2019 | Tyler O'Neill

Late last week, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) — a candidate for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination — condemned pro-life efforts to protect unborn babies as "against Christian faith." Specifically, she slammed Georgia's law protecting unborn babies from the moment a heartbeat may be detected in the womb. Rather than addressing serious science and faith concerns about the humanity of the unborn and the Christian tradition of defending life, Gillibrand defended abortion by referencing free will.

"If you are a person of the Christian faith, one of the tenants of our faith is free will. One of the tenants of our democracy is that we have a separation of church and state, and under no circumstances are we supposed to be imposing our faith on other people. And I think this is an example of that effort," the 2020 candidate said.

I’m Jewish, not Christian, but the basic morality is the same.

Kirsten is correct that there is free will (if not, what would be the purpose of existence?). But that’s about all that she’s correct about.

You have free will to do good, to do evil, or to sit on your hands and let others make (and act) to do either. THAT is what free will is about. In the context of abortion, a bunch of people in Alabama (and other states) have apparently had it with sitting on their hands, and have exercised their free will to pressure their state legislature and governor to stop allowing acts of evil (child murder) from happening.

BTW, Kirsten, just because something is illegal doesn’t mean that you cannot do it anyway. In the same exact manner as early Christians (and plenty of Jews in a wide variety of places and times) have chosen to exercise their faith DESPITE the illegality of it when and where they lived, so can people who are really intent upon killing the child in their womb.

I just shake my head when anti-religious jackholes start quoting the Bible or engaging in a religious argument in favor of their (Godless) policies.

Since when has Christianity ever allowed the murder of babies?
Gillibrand rivals AOC for stupidity award of the year.

Did she actually say this? The other part of the 1st amendment allows free practice of one’s faith.

“If so, either the “journalist” or the candidate is a moron.”

WRT the spelling error, it is the “journalist,” who is clearly an ill-educated moron (or else dear Tyler simply relied upon his idiot computer to spell everything correctly...which was a poor choice).

WRT the substance of this article, KG is a true idiot (as in, she acts and speaks pretty much like she has an IQ of about 30).

That is enough. Religion doesn’t have to be part of the argument.

Yeah, because infanticide is a core Christian value, eh?

Sure. Just ask the Aztecs... oh, wait... guess they weren’t Christian.

“Gillibrand is a Jewess.”

Uh, no she isn’t. Her maiden name is “Rutnick,” which sounds Jewish (and probably is). But her mother’s maiden name is Noonan, which is about as Irish as can be. Since one’s religion of birth is passed down through the mother in both Jewish and Christian theology, she was born as a Christian. I have seen no evidence that she was educated to be Jewish, or that she converted to Judaism.

Further, her husband is not Jewish. If she was the least bit interested in that portion of her heritage that is Jewish, she’d have married a Jewish man.

That all said, the answer to: “What does she know about Christian theology?” is probably somewhere between zip and zilch. I’ll leave that one to people more expert in Christian theology than I (I’m Jewish).

The left is as clumsy with scripture as a toddler with a power tool.

Yes, as clumsy but even more dangerous!

Newsflash for you Cursed Gillibrand: SATAN knows Scripture, likely better than the majority of Christians, including YOU! Just sayin’.

In Matthew 4:1-11, satan tempts Jesus, using Scripture by quoting Psalm 91:11-12, to try and get Jesus to sin. Nice try though, Kirsten. You get an ‘F’ for Biblical interpretation.

Roe v. Wade is based on quickening, which indicates the baby is “alive and kicking”.

If medieval doctors had Doppler transducers, they would have used them to detect fetal heartbeats to simply verify the baby was “alive”.

If Justice Blackmun knew about Doppler ultrasound technology, he probably would have strongly considered basing his Roe v. Wade decision upon its use.

Fetal heartbeats can be detected as early as about five weeks into a pregnancy I believe.

The five weeks is less than the timeframe between a normal period and a second missed period.

I don’t think five weeks is enough time. We don’t want women to use RU-486 every time they miss a period.

What I suggest is that abortions should not be penalized if the fetus has a crown-to-rump length of less than 10 centimeters, which is reached at around 12 weeks into a pregnancy.

This gives women plenty of time to make an informed choice and to arrange for options such as support from the father and from relatives.

If we rush women into missed period RU-486 abortions, we will have lots of women with severe regrets about those abortions.

I don’t think the Supreme Court will allow the Alabama law to stand. The penalties are too severe.

Gillibrand is extremely lucky to be a US Senator.

The woman is obtuse and lies with reckless abandon.

YO! Senator Sillibrand!

Abortion is murder!

Murder is illegal!

Let us make no mistake about it:

A vote for ANY Democrat, whether it be in a local, state or federal election, is a vote against America!

America cannot survive a Democrat victory in 2020!
