3 forecast modelers predict Trump will win in 2020
Axios ^ | May 27, 2019

Posted on 05/27/2019 9:01:45 AM PDT by SMGFan

teven Rattner, "car czar" and counselor to the Treasury secretary in the Obama administration, cites three different modelers in his N.Y. Times commentary, "Trump’s Formidable 2020 Tailwind."

The big picture: Trump wins all three modelers. Economists predict that the tailwind is large.

Ray Fair, a professor at Yale, "found that the growth rates of gross domestic product and inflation have been the two most important economic predictors — but he also found that incumbency was also an important determinant of presidential election outcomes."

"Mark Zandi, the chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, has looked at 12 models, and Mr. Trump wins in all of them." "Donald Luskin of Trend Macrolytics has reached the same conclusion in his examination of the Electoral College." Go deeper.

You're right. We need to CHOOSE people to run... not just allow bored ego manics to 'appoint' themselves for the job. Let's search out the best - then support them.

Axios cited the NYT in their article. Not sure why you’re calling it ripped off.

I question the gist of this article. Many people voted for Trump because Hillary was a terrible person, and a terrible campaigner. And that had nothing to do with growth rates or inflation.

If Trump wins, we get the House.

Hell, in 2016, control of the House was called at 9:30 pm.

“In other words, a more “normal” Republican would likely have won the popular vote by a substantial margin (instead of losing it by three million votes).”

WRONG! A more “normal” Republican, you know, like Romney or McCain would have got crushed in 2016 ... all the other candidates would have been constantly apologizing to every slander by the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia, making the latter nearly invulnerable in the future if they had gotten Hillary elected ...

Trump, on the other hand, has almost single-handedly destroyed the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia, or at least provoked them into a frenzy of slow motion suicide via the vilest and most blatant excess of lies, bias, and propaganda ...

Demographics are not our friend, but if we can keep the Hispanic vote around 40 percent, were in great shape. As for the house, hopefully the Supreme Court tells the states to go pound sand with regard to gerrymandering. And hopefully we won’t have many retirements this time. The senate should hold. Colorado probably a loss and Alabama a win so senate stays the same.

“So the question for 2020 may well be whether Mr. Trump can overcome the majority of voters’ poor perception of him and use a good economy and incumbency to win re-election.”

right. a “poor” perception fostered by a uniform and constant deluge 24x7x365 of bias, hate, lies, and vile propaganda by the dying lying leftist fake stream enemedia that hasn’t reported a single positive thing about Trump’s Presidency since he was elected ... All I can say, is thank God for the Internet for sites like Brietbart, Free Repubic, and several others ...

“If Trump wins, we get the House.”

yeah, i think so too, especially if the fool Dems continue the investigation nonsense and particularly if they go the impeachment route ... heck, even they don’t all the do-nothing talk will piss off their own lunatic base.

so, not only are the tailwinds YUGE, but I think Trump’s coattails will be YUGE as well ...

One thiing models can’t account for, is the influence of Big Social Media opinion manipulation.

The only thing that matters is the final vote on election night.

I wouldn't put it past the left to start writing articles that Trump is going to win re-election in a landslide so naive and complacent Trump voters don't bother to vote.

Then there are the October surprises, real or fake, that can throw an election overnight (BuzzFeed and CNN tried it with the alleged 'pee-tape').

And lets not forget all the wealthy tech and finance guys who hate Trump and might be willing to crash the economy before the election and take a financial hit just to defeat Trump.

And there are plans in motion we can't even imagine right now.

TAKE NO WIN FOR GRANTED. Every election is a fight to the end.

Even Liberals are realizing that having Creepy Joe as their best candidate means President Trump should comfortably be reelected.

Polls/models predicting a "most-likely" victory??
Where have I seen these things before??

I'm tempted to issue a:

Suspicion of "Voter Entrapment" Alert!

Almost Alinskian in nature... Just keep those GOP voters happy and home on election day... It's in the bag!

The NYT doesn’t like DuckDuckGo, they won’t let you read it if “you are in private mode”.
