Chernobyl and Concentration Camps

I just finished watching the amazing HBO miniseries "Chernobyl." It's one of the finest series ever produced.

The biggest takeaway is how socialists and communists lie. It's in their DNA. They lie about everything. And those lies are often so absurd they get themselves in trouble.

When it came to Chernobyl, the Soviet communist propaganda machine lied about everything. Officials denied there was any problem in the first place. Then they denied it was a complete meltdown. They denied nearby towns had to be evacuated. They denied the KGB knew there was a potential problem long before it happened but hid the proof. They lie about the death count to this day. They say 31 died. Scientists say around 100,000 died.

Socialist policies always lead to disaster, misery and unimaginable poverty. But the socialists and communists in power always lie and blame others to cover it up.

Sound familiar? This is the entire modus operandi of the Democratic Party. Ever listen to Bernie Sanders? Or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez? Their form of socialism is "different." It's nothing like the socialism that murdered 100 million human beings. Even though Sanders' platform is almost the same as "The Communist Manifesto" by Karl Marx.

Barack Obama created the worst economy since the Great Depression. Economic growth was, by some measures, the worst in history. Yet, Democrats swear the economy was fantastic under Obama. How would they know? The whole Democratic electorate is on welfare, working a government job (no matter how incompetent they are) or living in their parents' basement.

Want proof? A new study out of Germany found that 92% of left-wing activists who were arrested for politically related offenses still lived with mommy and daddy. That means almost every Democrat protester and agitator you see screaming "Trump is a Nazi" and demanding cradle-to-grave welfare and free health care likely lives in mommy and daddy's basement, sucking their thumbs all day while playing video games.

These leftist losers demand electricity rates must skyrocket in the name of "climate change," but they've never paid an electric bill. They're probably still on their parents' Verizon cellphone plan. There's no illegal alien crisis, but they demand sanctuary cities and states. They claim it's "racist" to call it an invasion, even as 150,000 illegals pour through our border every month. That's as big of an invading force as the GIs who landed on D-Day. They scream about illegal children separated from parents, living on cold floors. But the photos they tweet out are all from when Obama was president.

AOC and her Marxist friends in Congress even claim Trump has "concentration camps" on the border. When faced with her lie, when condemned by Jewish organizations, AOC refused to apologize and turned down an offer to visit Auschwitz. Why let facts get in the way?

Remind you of anything? It's Chernobyl all over again. These awful lies will come back to haunt Democrats in 2020, just as the lies of Chernobyl brought down the evil Soviet empire.

Another Chernobyl lie is that when radioactive cattle from the affected area were slaughtered, instead of destroying the contaminated meat, the Soviets simply mixed it with clean meat to dilute the radiation before selling it.

Our Socialists who insist that we must embrace socialism to save the planet from “man-made global warming” have no clue about the environmental disasters that socialism/communism causes. Just like they have no clue about just about everything.

” They say 31 died. Scientists say around 100,000 died.”

For the record, I don’t believe the ‘scientists’ either. I’ve seen enough documentaries where they simply can’t find much evidence of people dying from the fallout. Sure, the ones who got blasted by the direct radiation never had a chance, and the number is more likely in the hundreds, based on what those people were forced to do in the first few days, but the long-term dropping dead...just not happening as predicted. Also, the animals in that area are doing great, even though they’re feeding off some very hot plant life.

As we all know here ‘scientists’ and certainly ‘journalists’ also have agendas, not just the Soviet Government, and one of those agenda items is getting rid of nuclear power.

It is impossible to do and the entire story is an urban myth.

The problem was that the event produced tens of thousands abandoned households with pricy items by 1980s standards like TVs, stereos and thousands abandoned near brand new vehicles.

There was an electronic alarm system installed and patrols to revent looting but it went into disrepair immediately after Ukrainian independence.

If you look at it now there is not even a single bathtub or pipe and a wire left. Everything was stripped for scrap and sold somewhere.

Really?

A Russian told me the Chernobyl story, along with several other stories about Russia. And it is totally possible to dilute radioactivity to background levels. The principle of dilution works exactly the same for any substance.

Commiecrats lie because they think they are never wrong. Even when they’re wrong, and the dead bodies start piling up, they insist they’re right. The bureaucracy is always right. Somebody else is to blame, Trump, white people, cows, whatever is politically convenient. They just can’t admit they’re wrong or admit mistakes. They have to lie, lie and deny or it means the collapse of their house of cards. The collapse is inevitable, just hope Americans don’t pay too high a price for it.

Hmm, I did not know that I have agendas, and that one of them is the abolishment of nuclear power. All this time, I thought I was just advancing medical science—who would have known?

I don’t believe in what they say about Global Warming, particularly after they cooked the ‘evidence’.

Do you?

I don’t believe in high death toll either. It is mostly green propaganda. Plant workers, first responders and a few leaders and participant of the cleanup operation who spent too much time there are only confirmed fatalities. Maybe a couple hundred people developed cancer as a result but it is really hard to establish a link between illness and the event. No statistics indicates there is a spike in cancer cases between before and after the event.
Another thing is after the government stopped enforcing the zone hundreds of people returned to their homes. Many still live there after almost 30 years and 90+ years old.

After the accident the USN had a problem. all of the ships on the eastern seaboard were showing radioactive contamination on the outside. For a nuke sub this is a serious OH sH!t ! moment. every smear was contaminated with reactor fiszion man made products. Is out reactor leaking??? Procedure had to be re written to allow operation of the nuclear fleet And the conventional fleet!! . We were deconning our ships daily. I worked in Michigan in the late 80’s and the roof of the buildings and grounds were still showing new radioactive fallout for YEARS After. Chernobyl screwed up a lot of the earth. why aren’t the leftys, AOC etc suing russia for this?

Thunderf00t rips it to shreds for its technical inaccuracy though. I haven’t seen it (no cable, no sat here) so no opinion from me ...

There are peculiarities. It is theoretically possible but takes too much efforts to be practical. And it would make a highly punishable offence to risk it.

How many times have we heard the old adage, "you are born, you pay taxes and you die".

Givens right? Well I think we need to add to the list, "politicians will lie to you".

I saw it, very good. Mostly accurate.

BUT

“Then they denied it was a complete meltdown.”

Actually they PREVENTED the complete “meltdown”. The “accident” was an EXPLOSION!

“They say 31 died. Scientists say around 100,000 died.

Apples/oranges.

31 is the “official” number killed by the “explosion” and immediate aftermath (first responders)

“Deaths from Chernobyl. In the case of Chernobyl, 31 people died as a direct result of the accident; two died from blast effects and a further 29 firemen died as a result of acute radiation exposure (where acute refers to infrequent exposure over a short period of time) in the days which followed.”

There is a big difference between people who study science because they are fascinated by the natural world, and those who study science to try to rationalize their agenda. The former are good scientists; the latter, not so much.

Scientists are not one homogeneous group driven by a common ideology. We are as varied as any random group of people.

Oh, and if you care to peruse my posting history (not that I expect you to), you will see that I have posted thousands of words here debunking “man-made climate change.” I also have a link on my profile page that supports my contention that actions taken to combat “climate change” pose an existential threat to life on earth.

The democrats use "socialism" as a working title, but they don't believe in it.

What they do believe in is totalitarianism. Socialism is just convenient because it's easier to be a dictatorship in a socialist society than in a democracy.

Barack Obama was a good example. He has/had no moral values, no driving set of personal standards. He was only interested in being in power. Fortunately for America, he also had no training or skills in being powerful. His training and experience was all focused on being perfectly suited to being the perfect candidate for a position named "Minister of Snappy Patter".

If Obama had any skills in being in charge, he would have been more like Stalin or Hitler. Or Hillary. Instead, he did his 8 years and stepped down. Had his handlers known that Hillary would not be his replacement, maybe it would have ended differently.

There are peculiarities. It is theoretically possible but takes too much efforts to be practical. And it would make a highly punishable offence to risk it.

Let’s see: you have ten pounds of beef that measure at 1600 counts per minute (cpm) but allowable radiation level is 50 cpm, a little above background. So you grind up that ten pounds with 400 pounds of uncontaminated meat, and end up with 410 pounds of hamburger that measures below background.

From the radiation standpoint, this does not place anyone in danger. From the heavy metals standpoint, this may or may not be a problem; there is not enough evidence to make a determination. Regardless, it is highly unethical to take such action.

In any case, I would not expect Soviet officials would have been punished for doing such a thing. My impression was that the Soviet political class could get away with a lot.
